I dont know why I am not getting all notifications....I could have purchased your cubby........I am sure your wheel and tire combo is too rich for me.....but you have probably already sold them

Still have the Cubby and wheels and tires. Just updated pricing after selling my Maverick which I actually never expected to get when I originally listed them along with a lot of other stuff that I've sold. The Cubby I have priced at $36 with extra OEM screws, the wheels with TPMS and Ford and Bronco caps $600 and Tires are new never mounted $400 or $950 for combo. Also have OEM Maverick All Weather floor mats for the Hybrid never used t $120.

You are misinformed. The Hybrid under hood fire, while encompassing 120,000 vehicles across different product lines (not just Maverick), is nowhere near universal as you are implying it is. I also do not have a under hood fire recall on my VIN at this moment.

Not misinformed at all. The comment about lucky was for the person I was replying to which had stated he had never had a recall on his Hybrid including the latest one. Considering the number of recalls and the windows of those recalls I would consider that lucky so far. Mine was brand new and about a month old when I sold it so I had none either at that point but considering how long he had his I found that surprising.

Your experience with your particular Maverick is not indicate of a widespread trend with Mavericks overall. There are recalls for almost every modern vehicle on the road today. I would rather a recall than a manufacturer hiding an issue and being forced into a recall after lawsuits and deaths result.

Haven't ever had a recall on my 2002 Jeep or my 2021 Subaru or my 2017 Ram Motorhome or more previous 2010 and 2012 RAM 1500's. I've got news for you the NHTSA issues the recall on several Maverick issues and Ford complied. Might look into the Pinto history with Ford or the number of issues with certain Ford diesel engines that Ford never really addressed or the last fire recall on the Maverick that Ford never really addressed. The fire was caused after the engine failed and they never addressed why the engine failed only how to ventilate and drain fluids to reduce the potential for a fire. Lastly my particular Maverick never had a recall when I sold it including the latest fire recall. At least not so far. One thing is clear and measurable is recalls and TSB's for both the SC and Maverick. In that case the Maverick has had more by a significant margin. Not to say each aren't trouble free. The SC has had what I consider major issues with their Turbo models and the Maverick with their Hybrid models. all you have to do is visit both forums and find a number of issues with both..

Great ....glad you missed the Air bag fiasco and the first and second fire recall....some folks not so lucky. I got lucky as well but I didn't have mine that long before I sold it.

Not sure what got you so down on Mavericks, listening to other people's problems. You don't need to put it down to justify your SC decision.

If I followed your logic, I'd probably only buy a bicycle out of recall fears. But see @Automate's posting....not too shabby for a new vehicle's record.

We just took our Mazda over to the closest dealer (135 ,miles away) because their fuel pump had a recall. Not that every MX-5 had a failing fuel pump, it was simply a recall that could have been catastrophic, but wasn't.

I have several friends with MB Sprinter based RVs that MB issued "DO NOT DRIVE" instructions when they discovered the suspension was screwed up and needed new parts (that weren't even available yet).

OP, may I suggest the Santa Cruz forums? It's clear the Maverick isn't what you expected, so perhaps you will be far happier over there. We get it, you had a bad one, you sold it, and decided to move on. The rest of us will continue to enjoy our trucks and deal with whatever recalls inevitably show up as is the case for all modern vehicles on the road nowadays.

I’ve got news for you. That’s not how recalls work. In the case of all Maverick recalls I’ve reviewed, the recall was initiated by Ford voluntarily, who then filed for the recall with NHTSA. The recalls even initially only have a Ford recall # until they’re reviewed and acknowledged by NHTSA who issues their own recall #. Federal regulators tend to engage in discussions with manufacturers regarding potential defects, only after those discussions break down/stall do they escalate to forcing a recall, beyond just NHTSA and the auto industry.

A recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle, equipment, car seat, or tire creates an unreasonable safety risk or fails to meet minimum safety standards. Most decisions to conduct a recall and remedy a safety defect are made voluntarily by manufacturers prior to any involvement by NHTSA.

It wasn't even that he got a bad one! He said he was "lucky" that he didn't get a bad one. Hope the SC solves his truck needs...it sure would not solve mine.
