Hybrid or Eco boost

I have to make a decision in the next few weeks. I presently have a 22 Maverick Eco AWD that I bought from a dealer and I’m at around 5k miles. My production date is early July for a 23 Hybrid and I’m not sure if I will sell the 22 and buy the hybrid. With all the negative posts about the issues with the Hybrid I’m not sure I’m going to make the right decision. Can any hybrid owners let me know what their experience are…

I’ve had all the recalls/TSBs done with a couple hiccups and after a week in an ICE Ford loaner I can’t wait to get back in my hybrid in a couple hours. This is my 2nd hybrid (1st was 2013 CMax) and my 23 will be my third! I can’t find any reason to spend money on fuel when I don’t have to!

BTW, 26k miles on my 22 and no problems!

I'd buy and flip the hybrid, pocket my $10,000 or whatever, and keep the ecoboost. Somebody else pays for your gas for the next decade.

I would make my choice based on other options. How do the trucks compare, Lux, XLT, color.

If you don't need the AWD or towing, go with the hybrid. The issues we've seen have been isolated manufacturing issues, not issues with the actual design.

Well I own a 2022 maverick xlt with luxury package, cactus gray, co-pilot 360, hybrid with sibl, tri-fold cover I only use it on the weekends so it sits all week it sometimes goes into deep sleep mode after 4 to 5 days to preserve the battery. I do nothing different I do not disconnect the ford pass app just because it goes into a deep sleep cycle, yes I do lose the ability to remote start so I just get in the truck and turn it on. I have never had to jump start the truck I have owned it since September of 2022. I don’t do recalls or repairs unless it has to do with the drivability or safety of the vehicle and the current ones are minor issues to me. So that’s my experience so far. Just one man’s opinion. So chose wisely.

Was going to order the eco but gas went to close to $5 gallon so ordered the '23 hybrid BAP w Lariat Lux Pkg. Awesome vehicle 6400+miles in ... averaging 41 mpg -- it's nice having a hybrid you don't have to plug in. In sport mode reminds me of my '04 bmw 325i. Get it (if you can)you won't be sorry my 2 cents.

I own the 2023 Maverick hybrid lariat in in ecstatic with it. I live in Minnesota and I'm not afraid the front wheel drive. I get 43 miles to the gallon combined with highway and City driving together. I would buy a hybrid in the drop of a hat

I have the MY23 hybrid with close to 6K miles. No issues. Runs fantastic. Drives fantastic. Fuel economy is fantastic. IF I lived in snow country OR if I did off roading OR if I pulled a trailer . . . Then I would definitely go with the AWD eco ICE.

I owned an EcoBoost Lariat with 4k tow. I now have the Lariat Hybrid.

Both are fantastic options. I miss the power of the EcoBoost but overall I am more satisfied with the hybrid. I now fill up my tank once a month and still manage all my errands.

The extra power and the AWD were nice perks of the EcoBoost and are absolutely worth it if you want and need those features. The hybrid fuel efficiency alone is well worth it if AWD is not important. You cannot make a bad decision. You just need to make the one that is best for your personal wants and needs. Many members would love to be in your shoes at the moment.

I've had my hybrid for 10 weeks. I loke it very much. My other car is a '14 Volt (which I also like very much). I've had the Volt for 6 years and commute 40 miles each way in the mountains of NC. I have never needed 4x4 to get to work. I also have never needed the tire chains I carry just in case (now in the Mav).

I wanted something in between the MPGs of the Volt (154mpg lifetime) and my '07 Tacoma Crew Cab 4x4 (17mpg which also never needed 4x4 to get to work). I am averaging 47mpg commuting to work. When I drive around north GA I get 59mpg (no mountains).

Don't get me wrong- I live on a farm and there are place I do not go because of no 4x4, but if I do get stuck, I have a tractor. I just have never needed the 4x4 to commute to work (thanks you Climate Change I guess).
