Set Your Preferred Drive Mode w/ ForScan

Use Forscan to set your preferred Drive Mode by disabling the modes you don't want.

Example: Preferred mode is Eco

Option #1 - Disable all other modes.

(In sequence order of a Lariat Lux Hybrid)

Normal: Disabled
Tow Haul: Disabled
Slippery: Disabled
Eco: Enabled
Sport: Disabled

Option #2 - Disable unwanted modes that are before your preferred mode in sequence order.

(In sequence order of a Lariat Lux Hybrid)

Normal: Disabled
Tow Haul: Disabled
Slippery: Disabled
Eco: Enabled
Sport: Enabled

Did you have to disable in the IPC as well as ABS? I tried this after someone else mentioned it and found it to still be exhibiting the characteristics of operating in Normal drive mode, but in retrospect I had only turned off the drive modes in the ABS.

Just ABS.

I did not realize this info had already been posted. I will combine or remove.

As Darnon mentioned, make sure it is driving as expected.
Of course this method means you have to re-run Forscan if you plan to tow or have bad winter roads.
But it is a simple way to get a default mode.

Some desire to always run in Eco mode. This is one to get that.

Are the mode order the same across hybrids meaning xl xlt and lariat?
Are they this ? I could get disable of tow haul and sport mode. Two modes I would never use. Less choices faster to switch into mode I want.

I just did this to have Eco mode only. Confirmed works. Car starts and is automatically in eco mode. Awesome!

Also, can you change the order of the modes in for scan? If so, you could just put eco at the top and leave it all enabled.

When you start the truck and press the mode button in the center console, eco mode is already shown on the screen.

I too was able to get it to start for two weeks in what I thought was eco mode.

After I posted it was mentioned by someone who also tried it that the sound of the engine did not appear to change and they believed it was actually just operating in Normal despite removing that selection.

That is when I noticed while it showed through the selector I was in eco mode, the leaf symbol nor any other modes appeared at the top right of the screen.

I returned it back to stock after that.

Are you sure about that? You are disabling the modes in Forscan, not just the icons.

I added modes as well but none of them ever showed top right when selected.

Someone with the proper equipment could probably test to see if the vehicle is actually in the mode

If enough people complain maybe ford could do an software update to have it stay on what it was last. Yea I know doubtful but hey why not try.
