Hood will not unlock.

According to the Owners' Manual, to release the hood, pull the lever, allow it to completely retract, hen pull again. On my recently acquired '23 Lariat, the hood unlocks on the first handle pull, but nothing happens on the second pull. Hood pops open, but does not release. Any suggestions?

Not sure I let mine fully reset after the first pull, just 2 fairly quick pulls.

Push it back down to fully close and try again.

Had the same problem because Ford left off a hood spring to save money. This $9 spring cured the problem:

Mine did the same thing and Ford said it needed a part but after the part arrived the tech said he had to reattach a cable.

My truck was inconsistent - and then I installed the two hood struts. Now the hood won't open. If I can figure out how to get it open, I will disconnect both struts and check. I like the struts (not the hold open rod) but if that is causing the issue, i'll take the struts off.

I had the SAME EXACT experience after installing hood struts. The dealer opened the hood and removed the struts. Then I tried a completely different brand. Same thing happened.
The dealer opened the hood and removed the second set of struts.
I left them off. Hood opens perfectly ever since no struts.

I had the same issue. Struts attached, and the hood would not release the second catch. Unclip the struts, and it works perfectly.

Try have someone press down on the hood as you pull the lever twice

Tried that - no joy. The release handle has tension on the first pull. Second pull no action.
