  1. Chrome Grille?

Yes, I know the current trend is NO chrome, but a few of us old codgers still like chrome on their trucks. Has anyone found a place that would replace the black plastic grill with a bright shiny one? My 2023 Lariat is serving me well, but sure would like some chrome on it!
  2. Chrome Grill?

Has anyone replaced the black grill with chrome? I purchased my '23 Lariat Hybrid primarily due to the ability to tow it behind my motorhome. It has exceeded my expectations in every way, but being an old Geezer who loves shiny chrome, I sure wish a chrome grill was available.
  3. Blue Ox Base Plate Failure! Public Service Announcement

I received my Maverick Lariat in May of '23 and had the Blue Ox base plate installed. I was aware of the on-line chatter concerning looks of the Blue Ox, but the dealer convinced me to use Blue Ox rather than Roadmaster that would require adapters for my Blue Ox towbar. Towed the Maverick...
  4. First Road Trip, Mesa to Overgaard and Back

Ray, I plan a trip to Flagstaff and back with my '23 Hybrid Lariat. Other than towing it behind my motorhome some 4,000 miles this past summer, it hasn't been on trips. Any recommendations based on your road trip?
  5. Maverick Old Farts

Pushing 87 hard (Feb 1st), I suspect I'm not the oldest, but not a freshman. Cught the fever for a Maverick last summer, found a '23 Lariat Hybrid in San Diego to tow behind my motorhome. Paid far too much for it, but it's a great "baby truck"!
  6. Senior citizen Maverick owners thread

OK SamCat13, that Lariat with a touch of chrome is looking sharp! If I could ask, where did you locate the chrome? The only thing I don't like about my Lariat is the lack of chrome.
  7. Senior citizen Maverick owners thread

Sounds like a bunch of youngsters here. ;) I'm pushing 87, super proud on my '23 Lariat Hybrid following our travels behind (towing) our motorhome. At 4,150 miles I'm scheduled for oil change tomorrow.
  8. Neutral tow mode - HELP!

Exact thing happened to me in June - 2,000 miles from home. Ford dealer disconnected battery, reconnected 15 minutes later and all was well. They refused to warranty, charged me $185 but that's another issue.
  9. Blue Ox vs Roadmaster Base Plate---more than just what looks good...

I experienced a similar situation with my Maverick using the Blue OX base plate and Blue Ox tow bar. The wide spread of the tow bar connections makes hook-up difficult. The tow car must be almost exactly centered on the motorhome in order to connect both arms of the tow bar. With my Jeep...
  10. What's ON when flat towing?

Thanks REALSHELBY, but adding a charge cable means that the AGM auto battery in my Maverick is weak, and needs a trickle charge to keep it viable. When I "start" my Maverick after 4-5 hours towing, the ICE engine does NOT start - just electric is energized. No engine, no charging. No thanks. I...
  11. What's ON when flat towing?

Since I began to flat tow my Lariat Hybrid, I have experienced several occasions where the vehicle was in "Deep Sleep" when disconnecting from my motorhome. My question is, when the Maverick is in "Tow" mode, are the brakes and steering energized? I know that normally the brakes are hydraulic /...
  12. Hybrid flat towing -- are the Maverick brakes hydraulically applied or electrical?

Maverick Hybrid, flat down towing, configuring according to the book. The installed auxiliary brake system (required by law in most states) depresses the Maverick brake pedal when the towing vehicle's (motorhome) brakes are applied. My question: when in flat tow mode, and the brake pedal is...
  13. Deep Sleep again

Am flat towing my Maverick, and often receive a message from Ford Pass about deep sleep. On several, but not all occasion, have had to use the jump box to get things going. The last time upon arrival at RR Park the Mav was dead. After jumping, the message screen indicated vehicle was in flat to...
  14. Our summer trip with new Maverick Toad

No trickle charger in the Maverick. Auxiliary brake system is operated by air pressure from motorhome brake system. Lights are powered through a 6-pin connector from the motorhome. There is no electrical draw from the battery associated with the tow system.
  15. Our summer trip with new Maverick Toad

Well, I'm using a Blue OX base plate (already using Blue OX tow bar and didn't want to purchase adapters for an other brand of base plate) and M&G brake system that uses diesel engine motorhome pressure to apply toad brakes. The toad brake/turn signal lights are powered by the motorhome. The...
  16. 2023 Key FOB (keyless ignition)

Don't lose a key fob!! Found out this morning replacements are ~ $500! $90 just to reprogram a replacement. Independent locksmiths told me thay are not authorized to reprogram keyless Ford fobs. Only Ford Dealers!?!
  17. 2023 Key FOB (keyless ignition)

    Thank you, sir.
  18. 2023 Key FOB (keyless ignition)

What is the standard for newly delivered trucks? One FOB or Two?
  19. Installed FX4 bumper on my lariat for blue ox base pate

Well, all I gotta say is I thought mine looked OK until I saw yours. Yours looks much cleaner - a better job!
  20. Blue OX baseplate done right.

I did, but the Roadmaster requires adapters to use with the Blue Ox towbar. I didn't want the added expense of the adapters.
