I bought a light strip for the back of my hybrid Maverick truck, it didn't work so I took it over to the neighbors and tried it on his and it worked perfect. Went to the dealer and they tested it and told me it's not compatible with my truck, they said it didn't have enough resistance. Makes no sense to me but what do I know.

A light strip for what? How did you attempt to power it?

Dealers are idiots . It’s like asking an idiot to do a math problem. Asking them what is pi and they will tell you what kind?

If’s you are referring to the brake light strip under the tailgate area, there’s many different posts on this forum… I think there’s some that do that already have the extra needed resistance (I think ford accessories has one) but some have shown how to make them work with additional parts. If you search here for more information. If’s you are looking at something else then you can find it on here too it’s really a helpful site for all maverick questions 😉

Brake light and turn signal powered by the 4 pin trailer connection.

2 possible issues:

There is a known issue/recall on some 2023 Mavericks for trailer lighting, dealers now can’t even deliver trucks they have that have not been through the official repair process. Is yours a ‘23?

The factory trailer circuit runs through a smart converter that likely is not compatible with your light strip

If you have a trailer with a 4-pin plug or know someone who does, plug it in to your truck to confirm your receptacle is working

Good luck

Doesn't work with the 4 pin I had to get a power module and get power from the 12v aux ports on back.
