I am using a Curt C59DR for hooking up my lights. They say to run the 12 volt power straight to the battery. A lot of work.
Can't I use one of Ford's 12V accessories that's built right into the bed to get my 12 Volt??

Yes you definitely can. The 12v accessory hookup is on with the truck and stays on for a short while after truck power off I think. Why do you need the adapter? I’m having tailgate lightbar problems too.

You can, but a better way might be to connect to the 12v power terminal from the rear light housing assemblies. If you're going to be tapping them for the left/right turn/brake, you might as well tap the 12v common as well.

This gives you the ability to control the power from the cab. If you put the truck in no light mode, it'll cut the 12v common and kill the lights for your trailer too.

That defeats the entire purpose of the adapter though, the whole point is to draw 12v from other than the taillight circuit, think of it as one big relay, if he turns his lights off it will still shut it down because the relay isn’t get a power signal.
