The best side by side comparison I've seen to the old Rangers, love that they are basically identical exterior dimension wise

Roughly the same size. Old Ranger has lots more bed room. Maverick has more interior room.

Good luck with your new Maverick, looks nice. I really enjoy mine. I have had it almost three months, ride and MPG are great.

This is why the Maverick should have been the Ranger and the F150 sized Ranger be called the F100. Now I want to see a Tremor next to a 1st gen Sport Trac.

2008. Almost 260k miles. Needs a muffler, a/c fixed, and power steering fluid is leaking everywhere. Bed is rusting out, too, but it is a replacement. Been in a couple of wrecks. All in all it was a very good truck.

The Maverick is a good fit for me now that I'm pushing 60. Shorter bed, but I won't be hauling as much. Used the Ranger for garden dirt, trash, new furniture, and moving a few times.

AWESOME picture! They tried to sell me a Ranger when I ordered my Maverick, but I was too short, they were just the right height back then. LOL

Thank you. We have an 04 and I was hoping the Mav was about the same size as I love its ride height and general feel on the road. I was worried the mav was super low compared to our ranger but doesn’t seem like it based on your pic.

Unfortunately, the ranger will likely be going when we get the mav in (I love it more than the Honda but it’s just so much older and less efficient it makes no sense to be the one we keep of the two) and I want to ensure we have a similar vehicle moving forward.

I know they’ll be very different with the mav not being the loud, visceral experience the ranger is, which if I had to be honest I’m not looking forward to. But I hope everything else is similar enough.

Here's my 2022 Ecoboost Mav XLT AWD next to my 1997 Ford Ranger XLT 4 Wheel Drive. 189,000 miles on it but mechanically very good, so I kept it & sold my 2007 Mustang. Was a tough choice but I garaged Mustang in Winter & nice to have a beater 2nd. truck.

I really do wish they offered a single cab or even super cab with a longer bed, but it's still better than nothing.

A single cab "and a manual" would have be ordering one today...maybe two or three...

Some cost comparison: The 2008 Ranger was an extended cab that only had A/C, cruise control, rear window, and a spare tire. I paid roughly between $17500 and $18500 in Jan of 2008. My new 2023 Maverick XLT was $27000. For both that included tax, title, delivery, etc.... Bought both from the same dealership. I think the 2023 XLT was a better deal.
