I searched and figured this may be a side topic?

Anyone else have that sort of hard braking anomaly commonly described in that certain TSB, but it only shows up at low speed in the wet for me on my 2023 Maverick Hybrid XLT.

On 2-3 occasions in the rain this spring, at low speeds in and around the parking lot and always attempting to come to a STOP the brakes seem really GRABBY.

Really noticeable this morning pulling into a parking spot I had to apply a little more pressure than normal and the brakes grabbed real hard.

I'm not complaining, 5mph or less, only in the wet, and manageable. Just interesting.

So many factors, the transition from regen to hydraulic brakes, the type of brake pad etc.

i'm sure the pads on these trucks aren't ceramic, I remember on my other vehicles braking seemed to take "more effort" with ceramic pads in the wet.

With all the programming that goes into the brake transition, i'd probably want to stick with factory brake pad material since all the effort and programming has gone into using that type of pad, if you switch to ceramic lets say, it might screw up the programming?

Yes this is a known issue. It is odd it only happens mostly when it's wet out.

I’ve noticed it as well but I stoped holding the brake when I’m leaving my driveway now

Yeah I’ve had that happen first time in the car on a rainy day, when the brakes are wet and cold, once I have been driving for brief distance they behave as normal.

Yep same here, I am starting to get used to it and let my foot off slightly at the end of the stop. It’s only / always when raining.

Wet, dry, hot, cold, makes no difference, it happens whenever it feels like it. To me anyway. :ROFLMAO:

this is why i hard brake each morning when started driving the car. This way to 'wake up' the brakes and let em know its time to go to work.
