I have a XLT Hybrid order with Lux package, ordered MY23 last Sept when the order bank opened. I am getting to the point I am seriously considering switching to EcoBoost because I need a truck more than the 10mpg improvement.
Most of us that have been driving the hybrid Maverick are seeing a larger difference than 10 mpg compared to an EcoBoost model. Let's just say many people have been very pleasantly surprised.

But this news brings new hope, or do you guys think switching to EB might be a better choice in my case? I can still switch with same price?

Thanks!
It’s much more than just 10 mpg. I am getting on average 550 miles out of a tank and sometimes close to 600 miles on a tank with my hybrid. But I get it, the wait is painful. I waited 18 months while my car was losing value and interest rates were going up.

At current build rate, the 5% difference amounts to about 1,300 additional hybrids. Not nothing, but given the overage is roughly 20,000...
Of course it could mean that they are just reducing the number of EcoBoost they are going to produce.

Don't switch! Wait it out! It is so worth it. I'm getting average 45mpg in my 2023 Hybrid XLT. This truck is way beyond anything I thought it would be, to the good. I picked it up March 3. Good Luck!

It would be over 20 for me since 95% of my driving is low speed stop and go city driving. Our 2.0 Escape got about 17 mpg on my wife's commute with less stops. I expect the difference to be 15/40 so 25 mpg gain for me.

My Ford dealer told me mid-December when I switched my Sept 17, 2022 order to EB from hybrid XLT that he estimated I improved my odds of getting a Mav by about 70%. He said almost every order from his dealership was for a hybrid. My order code changed from 19 to 11 about a week before receiving an email in March with production date of week of May 8th. I believe if I had stayed with my preferred hybrid I would never receive a truck at all.

He mentions it offhand on the stream from the date of the original post. It wasn’t a big announcement, more of an offhand comment. Maybe @fordvideoguy can elaborate here?

I originally ordered the 2022 and converted it to 2023 when the order banks opened in September 2022. I received and email saying that my Maverick (Hybrid, Lariet Lux w 360) was scheduled for production on week of March 24th. I received an email on March 27th that it had been built. On April 1st I was told it had shipped and should arrive April 17th - 28th. The point is that they stuck to the schedule and it is a Hybrid.

It basically means that instead of 30,000 of us not getting a Hybrid this year now 28,700 of us won't get one. Who really knows what the numbers are?

I gave up on getting a XL Hybrid and changed it to XLT Hybrid yesterday. I decided to holdout for a hybrid for awhile longer because it suits my needs better but may switch to the Ecoboost later if necessary.

@fordvideoguy so the capacity for Maverick hybrids for June is 40% up from 35% - any idea if this is only for the month of June or is that 40% hybrid production capacity for the rest of MY23?

What does that really mean for the number of out the door hybrids? I think they are going to be 30K hybrid short of the number of orders they have, so does this mean they will not short only 27,000? Thank you

That is just a monthly number
