longest lasting summer tire?

I know it depends a lot on diving habits, road type, etc.

I'm just wondering what would be the longest lasting summer tire you could get for a maverick?

I'm in Texas, so, rare snow, seldom rain. Also, I don't care about traction much.... If I could get a semi truck tire in the maverick size, I would.

How many miles on your stock Continentals and is it time to replace?

I sold tires at Sears and Michelin had the fewest complaints or tire construction faults. Goodyear was 2nd.

Not time to replace. I've got 15,000 on the stock tires. I don't think they'll make it to 36k, but I've got plenty of time.

I have 53k miles on my stock tires and probably have another 15k-20k before I would need a new set. When it's time, I would get the same Continentals again. But if the Michelins are no more than $50 for the set compared to the stock Continentals, I'd get that just because of how many of you swear by them.

I am cheap also. I am thinking about general Altimax RT45 102H 225/65/R17 75K Warranty 4 for $648 plus m&b plus certificates at Discount. Long time to go on OEM's with 620 miles on. So .

If you amortize the cost over 5yrs (general life of a tire due to exposure) the difference in cost is negligible. The cost of mount/balance/etc has gone up quite a bit.

Also Michelin Cross Country 2 are actually rated even higher. I had both types and both are excellent in rain & snow...
