I paid $475.00 with tax for mine. The Ford dealer has a special arrangement with the local Line X shop where you can get the “dealer” price.
My dealer had a special deal with the local Line X business where I paid more for the SIBL through the dealer than if I went directly to the Line X business. Go figure.

Weird.

Mine has zero scratches dings or paint chips in the first 5000 miles / 6 months.

Probably has to do with how and where you are driving it.
It can also have to do with color. I do freeway driving everyday so definitely possible more flying debris but our other two cars haven’t had paint issues like this.

That makes absolutely no sense.

Mine is going to be $549, then add sales tax. I've seen higher and lower prices. That is for the standard product, w/o the UV protection. Mine will have a tonneau cover and sleep in the garage so I don't really need the UV protection.
Same here, I'll have a Tonneau cover on it. Thanks

I think he just means the dealer told him they could "get him a deal" on the SIBL and gave him "their price' which was probably something like $550-600 and told him that they had a deal with LineX.

The reality is LineX probably told the dealer they don't give any deals but they are happy to do the work for the customer....

Here in Houston Line X was $500, Premium $600 (but on sale sometimes for $550). I ended up getting Toff Liner. $400 and the UV protection is mixed in. I'm happy and well worth it.

No, it's replacing a 1991 S10 and the paint was apparently much thicker back then.
Welcome to "environmentally friendly " paint.

Thanks, I think that is a very good explanation of what I was saying. Who knows what is in the heart of many of these dealerships? Not I.

In my opinion, SIBL should be standard in all trim levels. Maverick is a truck for hauling. The thin paint will not last long in a bed!
I'm glad it's not standard, you can keep your SIBL, I'd much rather have my DIBL. To me, there are a lot more benefits to the DIBL than there are to the SIBL.

Yeah I mean they are banking on the customer never actually reaching out to LineX.

I will say my dealer gave me a fair price on installing heated seats on my bronco and when I took it to the place that they sourced it out to I asked if it would have been cheaper to come directly to them and the answer was a resounding no and that they basically hated that the owner signed the contract with the dealership.

Unfortunately - their work also reflected that attitude.

That's really interesting in several ways.

Interesting Ford kept that same part number for 30 years. 1993-2023

Interesting, on initial look, it appears Maverick and Ranger will share some parts.

While the Ranger does not have the round circles on the tailgate, I care not. What are those for anyways? Cup holders?

If we substitute the first 4 letters, doesn't that make the part Maverick specific? I will go measure the outer dimensions. If it's a match, wouldn't it be a hoot if the screw holes matched too?

How does it come? Unpainted or primer painted? I really don't care the color as long as it's at least primer painted.

Thank You.
Go to any scrap yard , your bound to find a 1993 or newer Ranger there.

And I believe the Maverick, Ranger, and Bronco's share alot of parts. One is the electronic locking tailgate on the ranger, it fits the Mav. There was a topic on how to install the small wiring harness and new latch.

Here's a thread on adding a Ranger tailgate lock to your Mav. It's kinda fun to have a "parts bin truck"

Wow, really took our first modest trip in the Maverick, we put a couple of plastic tote bins in the back and put a couple of small suit cases in one. Just went to the garage to take the empty totes out and was shocked at the scratches that went through to the gray primer. It seems like they barely put one coat of blue paint on the bed. I knew the bed would scratch, but this seems ridiculous that it would go through to the primer so easily. Does this seem right?

I'd not been thinking about getting a SIBL, but rather have ordered a bed rug, since I removed it from my order, but now looks like the SIBL is required.

I assume there are an awful lot of very scratched up beds out there if this happened to me in this way.

those are scratches in the clear not the paint, go to amazon get a bed pad for 70 bucks. Its the same thing as if you laid stuff on you hood and moved it around its going to make scratches. protect it cover it.
