Hi Folks,

I bought the TNVTEC wireless play adapter for my Maverick XL but can’t make it work. I tried plugging it in the USB C and A ports, the green light turns on the device and nothing happens.
Please, could anybody give me the steps to make it work?

Works great in my XLT.
I put in a wireless charger too.

The wireless charger is exactly what I’ve been looking for besides the wireless CarPlay… How did you secure it to the plastic piece before placing it back?

Most all of these devices are relatively poor build quality, so it could very well be defective from the box. Return it and try another.

I have been researching many of these dongles/adapters recently for my XL and the general consensus is they are all kinda glitchy but mostly work.

There are the type that simply give your phone wireless tethering to Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, or both, called (Two in One). Price between ($50-$120)

The new breed of these adapter have what they market as (AI). That enables the same wireless tethering but also gives the device its own android operating system, think of it like a phone without a screen, because it uses your truck’s display. These have their own wireless modem, and some have HDMI plugs for streaming content. The main feature is it allows you to cast video to your vehicle, like Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, internet Browsing. Price ($200+}

I have been using the OTTOCAST device for about 3 weeks and so far it's been 90% good...It definitely has it quirks where it will get stuck on the landing screen w/out displaying CarPlay (even though the audio is still coming through) and I have to dis-connect and re-connect. Essentially it works like I thought....pretty seamless most of the time and the few times it acts up it is frustrating.

I have this one. Took less than 5 min to set up. Works pretty well. Way better than wiring to phone. Phone stays in pocket, music plays fine.

Have that one too but their non “pro” version here works great for me as well. The biggest seller on me is the size of the dongle and the speed and reliability of it. Its easily tucked underneath the USB Port

Yes, that was my consideration as well. Very small and I used double sided tape to tape it up under the USB port.

There is always a short delay in connection, but other than that it has worked flawlessly. I have it connected with a short USB C cable and attached to the underside of the console with 3M tape. I also use a wireless charger (bought at auto zone for about $15) plugged into the USB A port and the wires just tucked back out of the way. Seems to work brilliantly.

This one has been flawless

Saw this, I went to hit the Buy Now button and it arrived the following morning. So far it has been almost great, not perfect. The audio skipped a few times and the sound quality is a slight downgrade compared to having the phone directly plugged in, you know, typical of a BT connection. However I'm using it in my VW and having to plug my phone in was a hassle because it won't connect sometimes or I won't get audio right away and I had to unplug and plug it in again. The OttoCast pretty much eliminated these issues, boots in 10 seconds, and my phone stays in my pocket.

I'll be buying another one of these for when my Mav shows up one day.

On Thursday I bought it at $109 minus the $30 coupon I have, came to $79 before tax. Then after it arrived I saw it had a flash sale and dropped to $69.
