Yes, but to Ford, the dealer is the customer, not you. Ford builds vehicles and sells them to dealers that then sell them to consumers. Dealers that sell more vehicles to consumers buy more vehicles from Ford, and thus are awarded more vehicles than dealers that sell fewer vehicles.

Personally, I think it is really shady that dealers tell customers they can put deposits down on vehicles that can't be ordered. If you walk into a Ford dealership today and hand them $500 or $1,000 towards a 2024 Maverick, what does that get you? You have no order! You have no place in line as far as Ford Motor Co. is concerned. All you did was give that dealer an interest-free loan of your money for an indefinite period of time.

Heck, I ordered in January of 2022 and it still took Ford 11 months to deliver my truck to the dealer. I had an actual order and I was still kind of annoyed the dealership got to have my $500 for 11 months.

Most dealers won't tell you their allocations outright, but you can assume that large-volume dealers have much higher allocations than small dealers in rural areas. And in the case of the Maverick, there are a few dealers (Chapman, Long-McArthur, Granger) that specialize in that particular model, move a lot of them and will almost certainly have allocations going forward that are far higher than the average Ford dealership.

I should also add that I new NONE of this when I placed my order. So, I am just trying to educate others on what I WISH I would have known when I was at the start of my Maverick journey...
I think it is useful information to try to educate people with.
One thing I would add, in the absence of your dealer telling you what their allocations are, checking carsdotcom or another similar site to see which of your local dealers are receiving mavericks is possibly a useful option to estimate allocations.
I say that because i have not seen much of anything show up there for my dealer and low and behold I am still unscheduled. Perhaps it would have been better to go with a dealer with more activity.

Yes, unfortunately as I pointed out to the other guy (who I am not sure believes me), you were never actually "in line" in February of 2022. You never really got in line until your order was put into the system, at the same time as everyone else. And since it looks like you have a hybrid order, your odds are really 2 to 1 against being built this year.

I keep telling people, if you want to maximize your odds of having your order built, the absolute No. 1 considering is ALLOCATION. If you haven't been totally immersed in the inner workings of Ford's order and delivery system for the past two years like many of us here, it's hard to understand, but basically if you don't place an order at a dealer with a large allocation, you really are hurting yourself. Every single vehicle Ford builds is awarded to a dealer based on the monthly allocation system, so the more Mavericks your dealer is "allocated" each month, the better.

It's better to be number 100 in line at a dealer that gets 25 Maverick allocations each month than it to be number 10 in line at a dealer that gets 1 Maverick allocation per month.

Yep. Wish I would of known that before I placed my order. Back in 08 I was fresh out of school and bought my first car. It was an 08 Hyundai Tiburon. People mocked me for buying a Hyundai. Told me I'd be looking for a new car with in 5 years. Everyone who mocked me is on their 2nd or 3rd car now. I still own that Tiburon. Not only did my car cost half of what theirs cost, I've had no issues with it until last year. Not even minor ones.

Since that car was so good to me 5 years ago, I talked my wife out of buying a Ford Explorer and she got a Hyundai Santa Fe. At 95k miles and so far no issues. So when my Tiburon started going last year I immediately was going back to Hyundai. But the dealer mark ups were ridiculous so I said screw them. That's when I found the Maverick. Spent 1500 to semi fix the Tiburon and have been waiting ever since.

But now I'm at the point of giving up. I can now buy a new Hyundai Elantra hybird that averages 53 mpg for same price as Maverick. So now it's a waiting game. Once my Tiburon is finished, if my Maverick is nowhere I'm going back to Hyundai and will never look at Ford again.

Contacted my salesman and included the whole paragraph. I have been COVP'd and I am price protected.

Thank you for the update. I would like to see Ford show the cost breakdown on the Shipping Fee. 1595 seems like a big price for a Maverick.
I got this breakdown from a friend on the inside… Shipping fee, $800… The rest of it is labeled as “because we can“

Hoping you can advise. I just bought the membership and understand you need to be a member for 30 days. How do I go about getting the discount? Do I just show proof to the dealer
Doesn't have to be Illinois, just that their membership fee is low. I joined Texas, which is $50 for year. After 30 days membership, you are eligible for a $500 rebate.
How do you go about getting the rebate once those 30 days had passed? Do you just take your membership and proof of it to the dealership where you bought the
car if your car were to get built? Sorry I'm new to this hoping you can guide me in the right direction on how to go about getting the $500 rebate just the time ever comes that I need it. Sorry if this is a duplicate question had trouble getting the first one submitted. Thank you!

You gotta go to this website and put in your Farm Bureau membership credentials to log in. Then you can create a certificate.

FORD FARM BUREAU

You may have to wait UP TO 30 DAYS before the system will let you log in, but many have been able to do so sooner. All depends on how often the membership databases update and merge with the system. At any rate, if you JUST joined, then you probably won't be able to create a 2022 certificate to use with your price protection from your order date in September. However, you WILL be able to create a 2023 certificate that will be valid on your truck at the time of delivery. However, your dealer may tell you the rebate "won't combine" with your protection date from time of order.

I ordered in January 2022 and joined Farm Bureau in July 2022, but even though I joined months after my order, I still had a 2022 certificate so I got the $500 off my protected price at time of order. With you folks who ordered in September 2022 and now taking delivery in 2023, I am not sure they will combine. You are still eligible for the rebate, but just may not be able to combine protected oder date deals with 2023 Farm Bureau deal. Gotta talk to your dealer about that.

What sucks is u are paying the shipping but I can't get anyone to give me the rail car # (customer support or the dealership) so u can track it on the rails I've tried like 6 times now
Shipped on 1/13 and as of 1/24 they say it is in East St Luis.. And that is the latest update they can see.. But won't give the railcar#.. They either tell me they can't see the # or that they can't give it out... It less then 300miles from the final rail yard.. And they say it has been sitting there for 10days now

Good data, hadn't thought about the complexity of order year differences, private offers, etc. I don't have a roll over private offer, so mine isn't an issue.

I joined Texas Farm Bureau on 1/7 (Saturday), got the membership confirmation email 1/9. As of right now it won't let me generate a certificate. My truck is in route, so it's a bit of a race for which happens first...

if you go to FordRecognizesU.com/FarmBureau/login/login you should be able to type in your membership number and zip code, then it should create the certificate for you.

But you could also be able to go to this website: https://www.ilfb.org/membership/benefits/, click on Ford and the dealer can use the code for SmartVincent to give you the offer with proof of membership.

This information is for the IL Farm Bureau, but the Ford website should work regardless of state affiliation.

So far …. I really think you nailed it. I went with small dealership, lowest cash down. I asked last week my priority ( 10) and allocations (0)
