Which Catalytic convertor shield works with Maverick

I wonder if an alarm with a motion detector might make sense.

In the 80's, when approaching some cars, some alarms would announce their presence on the vehicle - e.g. "step away from the vehicle."

Not yet that i'm aware of but reach out to JCR Off Road and ask if they are going to make one for the Maverick, they currently sell one for the Bronco Sport.

That's great and all but some people prefer to at least make it a little more difficult.

The crack heads here in the DC area barely know how to use a sawzall, I doubt they're going to be able to manipulate security torx like JCR Offroad uses on their Cat shield. Also, THAT video didn't even cover a shield like what JCR offers AND that channel for the most part is satire.

Yeah, the anti theft products are almost as bad as the thiefs. A bolt on cage or some bundles of cable isn't stopping a thief. It's not like a smash and grab window thief where a small obstacle and they move on. If they are under there sawing through your exhaust already, a couple cables isn't going to stop them. You're just paying through the nose for false peace of mind.

I’m going to make my own catalytic converter guard.. it really doesn’t need to be bulletproof just something robust enough that when the thief thinks they are going to start cutting and realizes it’s going to take longer they will move on to someone else’s car.

If it gets stolen and resold locally that works. Trouble is a lot of them are being shipped over seas, having the raw materials removed, and then sold to auto manufacturing companies for new vehicles.
