I’ve been reading this forum for over a year. And it seems this forum could use a gentle reminder on a couple things. (If not, don’t throw shoes at me, just don’t reply and this thread will die).

This message board is like a lot of other specific model of auto message boards. People end up here for a few reasons. Some like to teach and learn about mods, some just like the company, and a TON have ended up here because they had troubles of some kind- ordering, wire harness, engine shudder, etc.

I see so many comments about “unicorn” this or “you won the lottery” that, and a lot about “all these problems make me not want to take delivery”.

Some (many) posters here would have their minds blown if they knew that out in the real world, outside of this website, that most people have very good experiences from ordering, to driving.

It’s like someone sitting in the waiting room at the doctor and assuming everyone in town is sick.

Y’all need to chill with the chicken little dramatics.

I believe that you're likely to get overwhelmingly negative perspectives just about anywhere online, because people who have no reason to complain will stay quiet while the (hopefully) minority of people with issues will take to the metaphorical streets. I agree it's good to have an occasional reminder that not everyone has issues but getting those happy customers to chime in is like herding cats.

It is quite unnerving knowing just how many people have the same issue you're experiencing. For example, myself and ~7000 others had VINs last year, were scheduled then pushed over and over again for months only to be cancelled and re-entered in November after new orders were being scheduled and produced. The reality is that the order and fulfillment process is a mess, but for every pissed off customer there are probably 3-4 more happy customers who don't know this forum exists.

"Data" on any forum is usually not worth using for analyzing trends, problems, and, in most cases, certainly not predicting future events. It does provide for info sharing, all of which is influenced by the poster's specific experiences. Pick and choose and there is a lot of GOOD info. Happy choosing!!! (y)

This forum is reasonably accurate, plenty of complaints, plenty of compliments. the Maverick does not walk on water despite what some posters claim - it's not the worst vehicle ever produced despite what some posters claim. It's the 1965 Mustang of the 60's, the right vehicle at the right time -yes I was there for that also. in 4 years it will be readily available, some sitting by the roadside with "for sale" signs due to competition -same as the Mustang. It is a cutting edge progressive vehicle that is going to impact and change the market for the next 10 years

But they DON't Make things like they used to!

I just replaced a 1958 build date Home oven. Not because it quit working, But because wife didn't like the glassy pink 57 Chevy (or whatever) enamel paint.

Wife wanted "black stainless steel with digital controls". What's the over/under odds on how long that's going to last?

My first car was a '77 Buick that then got passed down to my little brother who got rid of it, still running, in 2002 with half a million miles. Only tire, brake, oil, and belts / alternator changes.

What's the over/under on the Maverick?

Personally, I joined this forum because I am obviously buying a Mav. This forum is just another research tool to learn about the product. I wanted to see real-world problems and fixes. Getting ideas for mods etc. There are real issues with FoMoCo's ordering system, many comments are justified. But, there is also a lot entertainment sprinkled throughout. I just grab the popcorn and sit back. 😎 :)

Everyone wants their voice heard. There are five things people need in life: Food, water, sleep, sex, and the feeling they they are valued. Life is a great thing! It has been said "oh well, You still have your health" People think that is a silly saying until you get sick and the Doctors tell you you will are not going to make it. That happened to me in September of 2021. I spent 12 days in the ICU clinging to life. At 52 years old the thought of leaving my kids without a father and my wife without a husband was very life changing. I am still here despite the odds that I faced. I am happy and healthier than ever. This is just a truck and I am thankful that I am still here to wait patiently for mine. Let us all have a wonderful and and safe 2023!

Someone asked on Facebook last week: For those that have a lot of miles on their Maverick what is your current opinion?

When I read it there were 64 answers. One said it was the worst purchase of his life and it's a horrible vehicle and Ford should be ashamed. (or words to that effect). The other 63 reported few or no issues and universally loved the vehicle. For whatever that is worth. I expected the normal 50/50 like / dislike. But 63 to 1? Seems like most people like it.

Even that can be problematic. Those threads often languish due to low participation because A) it’s boring to just say “all good here”, and B) most of the people who have no problems do not see the post, because they are not on the forum.

So any reading into the “results” of those threads is pretty useless. They can actually be used to reinforce the falsehoods (“see, not many ppl have zero problems”).
This is why the weather forecasters love to build up and predict bad weather. Bad news sells.
