Common sense. What is this belief based on?
Common sense is a misnomer as it is not remotely as common as the term implies. See above.Common sense.
Everything is temporary.
Everything is cyclical.
Can’t wait for inventory and MSRP pricing. All I want is a hybrid XL with co-pilot 360 in any color sometime around March 2023. Too much to ask for?Used vehicle prices are are tanking, and interest rates are up. The Mavericks will hold extra value longer in the market due to being "new and hot", but as those who really want them acquire them, demand will drop on them too. When the flip value is gone, so will all the multiple orders. You will be able to walk into a dealer and pay MSRP at virtually any one before 2023 is over. Interest rates are killing car sales already. The higher interest rates were needed to reel in high inflation though.
I agree with the getting tired of waiting and I will never pay the ADM. Ford has tried to chastise dealers doing that and that is why they are changing their paradigm as the move into the pushed electric vehicle parameters.Probably mostly customer canceled orders, or some customers that may have ordered more than one Maverick. You never know. Some get tired of waiting, while some may have decided it wasn’t what they were expecting.
So it should actually be called UNCommonsense?LOL. Totally agree. If only the "common" in common sense were true...
For a Hybrid? Yes. For an EB not at all. Hybrids will need at least 6-12 months or more. Can’t wait for inventory and MSRP pricing. All I want is a hybrid XL with co-pilot 360 in any color sometime around March 2023. Too much to ask for?
Car dealers are becoming car 'stealers.' It is bad enough that I have to pay msrp plus a $799 doc fee. However, no one puts a gun to your head to buy ANYTHING! Sometimes capitalism sucks!Lot of dealers in my area have 22s in stock at 5k over. Must be lots of people walking away from the order. Dont blame them really with trade values tanked and high interest rates.
Actually it is usually the ones that try to "fix" capitalism that cause the problems. Such as almost every state having laws requiring new vehicles to be sold through local dealers.Sometimes capitalism sucks!
I live in southwest Houston, Meyerland area, I got my Maverick in October and the only other ones I have seen, two, were in Katy. Zero around my part of town.I am starting to see them a lot around my neighborhood. Still waiting for my order to be built.
Personally, I don't think they care. They screwed up with their marketing study on the Edsel and probably had no idea of the popularity of the Maverick?I wonder if anyone at Ford has bothered to think of how much customer goodwill they are losing? It is one of the most important things a company can have, and it is getting flushed. Someone in Marketing really blew it when they cooked up the production plans. In the past, when plans were off, plans were changed to meet demand, however necessary. Now, maintaining the flawed plan seems more important than meeting demand and keeping customer goodwill. Not good.
