Hybrid XLT: Is it possible my gas tank hold less gas in extreme cold temp ? I thought I read it has a bladder system. When I filled it instead of the regular 550+ miles to empty - its like 480.Any experts up here with Maverick hybrid that are in cold states or provinces that temperature goes down to - 30 to - 40? How bad is your MPG compare to original 42 mpg? Optimal temperature for any gasoline vehicle is 65—70. Any thing above and belov will effect. Vehicle performance. Some time best thing to do is to unplug battery few time a year. During each season. Air expends and contracts 3% for each 10C. Same for tires. Each 10C - /+ 2psi. After unplugging battery let vehicle run for 10 min so it will learn new air to fuel ratio.Performance ? Here in Tennessee when the temps have gotten down in single digits the gas mileage goes WAY down and Ive had a problem with the app showing the truck in Deep Sleep mode preventing remote starting yet on the Lariat, it starts right up with the remote start on the key fob. I do wonder the difference between -1 degree and - 30 degrees. The truck has performed great driving at zero degrees I must say.
Short trips were registering 27 mpg - if I set the thermostat at 65 the mpg went up due to the engine not running 100% of the time but the battery capacity at -1 degrees is certainly affected as well. How bad is your MPG compare to original 42 mpg? The computer will calculate miles to empty based on most recent mileage. If your current MPG is lower due to the cold, it will reflect in your miles to empty.Hybrid XLT: Is it possible my gas tank hold less gas in extreme cold temp ? Full on gas and diesel vehicles can have issues in those temps, while I think hybrids are great for regions that don’t get cold or don’ t have a significant change in temperature between summer or winter. People that live in places that regularly hit temps of -40 or colder don’t drive their hybrids at those temps.Any experts up here with Maverick hybrid that are in cold states or provinces that temperature goes down to - 30 to - 40?
