To anyone who is certain they don't want their MY23 Hybrid order

In response to a few posts:

The general concensus has been that Ford has wide availability of the EB engine and the number of EB retail orders are no problem for production this model year, and that consumer EB orders are likely to be all fulfilled and then EB dealer stock orders will be ran with allocations if there are constrained hybrid orders with a dealer.

TLDR; Don't waste a hybrid power train you don't want for the dealers to mark up. Let it go in a consumer's order truck who wants it. All the ecoboosts are likely going to get built anyways.

Those who have been here waiting on 2022 orders have seen posts like this before. It didn't change anything then. It won't change anything now.


Let's just take my order as an example. I ordered a 2023 tremor the first day they could get an order sent

I now have my xlt, fx4. Should I give up my tremor order so someone else can get their first mav? So someone else can get a tremor, cause my fx4 is about the same thing anyway?

It's basically the same thing you are saying about hybrids switching to ecoboost

I can tell you I want both of my orders. Hybrid being built next week 9/2021 original order, Second AWD ? ordered 9/16/2022, Even if there are lower quality items installed, we can't come close to building a vehicle for the kind of money we are paying for the Maverick!
Yes there is a chance to decide later the Maverick does not fit our needs but that goes with a lot of things in life. We sure want the chance to decide for sure!

It "really rubs me the wrong way" to see you whining after barely waiting for yours when people who ordered a year back have yet to get theirs.

The way other people feel does not affect the way I feel. I'm irritated at the wait and I've only been waiting for 3 months. Knowing people have waited longer tempers my irritation but does not remove my feelings. Why should I feel great about waiting for what has always been a same-day purchase?

Is it fair that I should have to wait just as long as others? Sure. Do I have to be okay with that? No. I'm also okay with it rubbing you the wrong way because I'm not going to rub you the right way.

The only way this would benefit me would be if someone would do this at my dealer, who is ahead of me. There are no MY23 hybrids at my dealer ahead of mine. I posted this for the benefit of the community who invest time to this forum. Maybe one person will see this and go ahead, and one other member gets their hybrid a little quicker.

My order has been in 3 months, but I have been committed to purchasing a single hybrid mav since ~February. My wait has been 10 months, most of those unable to even get a place in line. Many others here in that situation too.

I appreciate all of the stances, and posted this knowing it would rile some up. Time to uncap some Christmas Cheer and enjoy the wait.

It's really rubbed me the wrong way over the past few months, since September ordering, to hear of folks who ordered a 2nd/3rd/4th truck and then deciding that they don't need/want/care to wait for it. I understand all the freedoms you have to do what you like, as you have, but this community could benefit from some better collective action and forethought.

I would like to ask, as politely as I can, that if you are one of these people and you have a hybrid MY23 on order that there is a most certain chance that you will not take delivery of - Please change your engine to Ecoboost as soon as possible!

The consequence of not doing so is irrelevant to you, however - the result of your inaction will be that the available hybrid powertrain that could have gone to someone here who is passionate and feverish to get a hold of one, goes in a truck which ends up on a dealer lot marked up to the moon. Although this may not sway the numbers significantly, every little counts when we are facing the 35% capacity of FHEV production.

I remember back in June or July one of Tim's vids had some Maverick sale stats that Ford released......about 20% of customer orders were not being fulfilled.....because of multiple orders, people just placed an order and weren't serious buyers or financially unqualified buyers.....or whatever....so 15 or 20 thousand trucks ended up being retail orders with 5 to 10 grand markups. If Dealers would have required 1k deposit most of that nonsense could have avoided .

I waited 9 months for my 22 XLT eco. I ordered a 23 hybrid XL, on 9/16. My hope was to be able to sell my eco for the price I paid for it, if and when my 23 order is fulfilled. I have serious doubts that it will be possible to get what I paid for my eco to make it an easy decision..... So, plan B would be to buy the hybrid and sell it for a thousand or 2 more than I paid for it. That seems very possible. I think most of us with good credit could pull that off pretty easily. Hardly anyone would just let their hybrid go without checking their options.

OP: Entitled much? There's a 50% chance you're not going to get a MY23 hybrid and not enough hybrid orders from members here will will be changed to EB to make a dent on the oversubscription.

What rubs me the wrong way is people coming on here frustrated after 3 months telling others what to do to so they can get their Maverick sooner.

EDIT - and while I appreciate your enthusiasm and aggravation already OP - if you want a hybrid or even an EB at this point and you've only been in line for 3 months - brace yourself or go fishing and pay an ADM.

That won't do anything just give the dealer full rights to sell it when it comes in. They won't cancel the order
