Anyone want to take a Mav order?

Hi all,

I order my Mav back in Jan 2022, but was eventually rolled over to MY2023. I ordered from the dealership near me and a different one in TN. I never rolled over the one from TN to MY2024 since I got my original order with the closest dealership built quickly after the rollover. The TN dealership rolled it over anyways despite me telling them to cancel it.

Anyways, long story short, I have a 2024 Altas Blue XLT with LUX scheduled for production in Nov. The dealership in TN is Ford of Franklin. I don't have the window sticker yet, but I will update this post as soon as I do, for anyone interested in a Mav

It's the dealer's now. Whether you take it or not, they decide if there will be any markup. We have seen it happen many times, even selling the truck to another buyer without notifying the person who ordered it. They will have a buyer for it. In this case, you didn't order it. The dealer just used your name for that.

You can’t give your order to someone. This will become the dealers vehicle, along with a big mark up.

If a Maverick customer orders a Maverick, and then for any reason (including the customer got another Maverick from another order) decides they don't want the second Maverick for themselves, can the dealer deny the customer's desire to purchase the second Maverick? And can the dealer install a buyer premium on the second Maverick solely because the customer already has a Maverick?
What if I own a business, buy a Maverick for myself, like it so much I want a Maverick for my business? And then I sell the business but still want the Maverick? What if I order a Maverick for my wife and she decides to cheat on me? Shouldn't I have the right to receive her Maverick (that I paid for BTW) so I can take it out into the field on my farm and torch it?
I'm a little unsure of the dealer's abilities to prevent a customer from buying what they want, and ordered, regardless of the customer's intended use of or disposition of the vehicle.

I disagree that it's the dealers order. It was ordered in your name and it's up to you to determine it's fate.
I visited my dealer when my truck was scheduled and wondered out loud what I was going to do with my 2024 order. They looked gut shot asked me if i was going to take it. Told them it depends on how my 2023 purchase works out and that I may feel generous.

I'm a little unsure of the dealer's abilities to prevent a customer from buying what they want, and ordered, regardless of the customer's intended use of or disposition of the vehicle.

Two things - (1) the dealers have sold trucks out from under people before and have not suffered any consequences for having done so, and (2) if you ordered the Maverick and went to complete the sale, it would be unusual for the dealer to do anything to stop you.

The issue arises when you choose not to complete the sale. The dealer can then sell the truck to anyone, for any price, they choose. You can buy the truck and then flip, but until you buy it and put it in your name, it technically belongs to the dealer.
