Well it made sense for me.
Not having to wait and wonder, plus get the immediate utility was worth it to me. Plus I was at lease end on my other so great timing actually. I needed to tow on a long trip the month after and liked that I had a month of break-in and getting used to the truck before towing. Had I not made the purchase when I did, I would have been forced to tow with a rental. Surely that would have been $500 maybe $700 for a week long trip.
Oh I'm glad it was good for you. I think you know what it was for you and also the value for you. I'm glad your happy and have great truck.

if I wanted a Ford with an EB engine I would have ordered an Escape or or Bronco Sport, if I don't get the Hybrid Maverick so be it

No, as the Hybrid powertrain is the one of the things I like best about the Maverick. If my order gets cancelled or delayed beyond, say, late summer, I may end up buying a new Prius or a full EV.

Screw it. I went for it.

It truly is going to come down to get an Ecoboost Mav, or don't get a Mav in my opinon.

Switching to EB gives me an opportunity to finally get A maverick even if it isn't the MavBrid I did want I am getting some significant upgrades now like AWD and the 4K tow pkg which makes it much more serviceable as a truck.

New Build:

XL
Area 51
EcoBoost
AWD
4K Tow Pkg
CP360
Rear Sliding Window, Full size spare, PPF film on fenders, 400w rear outlet, spray in bed liner

Combo of hybrid and price (in a trucklette) is what brought me to Maverick, I need both. May change my tune if we get to end of summer and I'm still not scheduled, but it'll be to a hybrid someone else makes, not to an EB.

I had a 22 ECO Lariat and had a chance to trade for a 22 Hybrid Lariat. 26 mpg vs 38 mpg actual mileage. Not as fast as the eco but plenty fast for an old man like me. According to the first email from Ford, my 23 hybrid Lariat was one of the first ordered. Maybe sometime in the fall , after Labor Day I could get a vin number. If not, doesn't matter. I'm very happy with the carbonized grey one I have. The Dealer would be pleased if I turned down the cactus grey one I have on order. There are rumors of a plug in hybrid awd for 24 ?? My dealer wouldn't comment on that. Could wait it out to see.

I plan to switch tonight.

The Jetta set EGR and DPF codes this morning:oops:. Not fun looking between an unobtanium dieselgate emission compliant fix:mad: or a $2800 delete:sick:.

I drive 50 mph state highways for 90% of my driving. It will take some time before the MPG and maintenance savings of the hybrid would offset the Jetta repair cost to wait for one.

EDIT: Switch did indeed occur. XLT Hybrid to XLT Eco FWD.

If I wasn't getting the hybrid, I would have to consider and compare the EB Lariat to the Santa Cruz. Price is one consideration, but so are amenities and resale. Anyway to much calculation, I am sticking with the hybrid.

Poll results, while very limited, are what I expected. Even Tim said he had one out of his what, 700(?) orders make the switch yesterday. I fully expect very few people to make the switch to EB.

For me, I work from home. The tank of gas I put in my Saturn in October will last me until January. As a result, gas savings don't actually matter to me. The added convenience of being able to pull more if necessary with the 4K is why I went EB to begin with. My wife burns through more gas with her Escape with local driving and we have already said her next vehicle will be an EV as a result.
The suspension/ride quality of the AWD/FX4 is better than the hybrid if that accounts for anything but yeah I didn't think many Hybrid orders would switch unless guaranteed a reasonable delivery date instead of thoughts/prayers-
