Hey, I get it. It's easy to blame Ford for however long your wait is or has been for your new Maverick. Ford should have done this, or Ford should do that.... well Ford has been building cars for over a hundred years. Anyone that has been in business that long has it figured out. Sure, the pandemic screwed things up but to those who think Ford should have planned better, maybe YOU should have done better PLANNING yourself.

I started looking for a new pick up several years ago and began doing research on the Ranger. It was a little bigger than what I needed and when word of the Maverick came out, I put off my buying decision until more information was available. When it became available to order I specked out what I wanted, once I saw one in person and was able to measure the bed to see if it would fit my needs, I placed an order the next day. Bronco delays were old news, so I didn't PLAN to see the truck for a year if not two.

Probably get a bunch of flames from the younger "Amazon Overnight " crowd. Like I said, I get it. I understand sometimes your current ride dies or gets wrecked and you have to have a new vehicle right away. Pay extra if you need it now just like you did when you bought those Taylor Swift concert tickets right before the show. Remember, Ford is doing everything they can to get your truck built. Just because someone else gets theirs before you that ordered after you doesn't mean Ford is FUBAB.

I got my truck after a ten month wait and it has been well worth it. It didn't change my life, nor would it have been ruined if I was still waiting on a build date.

Ah yes, the I got mine so I don't know what everyone else's problem is.

There are plenty of things that are completely out of fords control, I'm not yelling for lawsuits or cursing ford because they couldn't build my truck in the 408 days that I've had an order in. I know they would love to make a truck to sell me, but I understand dealer volume, location, options, play a bigger role in it than simply when I placed the order.

If I got my 2022 in September or October like I was originally scheduled to, I would have no complaints, it took a while, but they did what they could and eventually got me the truck. But the time from 23 order banks opening until I got my 23 vin sucked. Each trip to the dealer was trying to convince them to do what the ford memos said to do, and it being the first time they heard this process. The communication between dealers and ford is not good. It's made it way more stressful for me than I ever imagined buying a car to be. And it's definitely soured the ford brand for me.

get bent, dude.
I was overseas when I put an order in (OCTOBER 2021) and watched as it looked likely the truck would not be built by Spring when I hoped, but "hopefully" it would be built by the time I returned home in summertime.

STILL waiting, and there is NO WAY someone could plan on an established US company telling me FIVE different times the 10-month late production date would be delayed again...

I'm fortunate that I was able to go buy another car while I wait, but not everyone else is.

Based on the dealers who are active here and in other Maverick groups. The issue isn't a communication issue from Ford to dealers, but dealers needing to be actively engaged and paying attention. Ford can't make dealers read memos. We know things here as soon as Ford sends out a communication due to active dealers, yet some dealers deny having heard anything days, weeks, or months after we know it was communicated

The dealers constantly looking for updates were informed, but from buyers here, it seemed like that wasn't the case for the majority of dealers. Maybe checking memos is the managers Monday routine so giving 12 hours notice of something isn't good enough and they should plan things further from making decisions. Maybe an [email protected] email for things that happen last minute. Whatever they're doing now isn't getting to the dealers, and all Ford and dealers pointing the finger at each other does is leave the buyers frustrated.

Reasonable people are not bashing Ford over supply chain issues & logistic issues, as everyone is dealing with that at different levels.

Where Ford is getting DESERVEDLY bashed is it's decision to apply their antiquated dealer allocation system to custom retail orders. And then lying about moving away from that.

Sorry, that is COMPLETELY on Ford, and could have/should have been completely avoided.

There is literally a message center that dealers have access to. Here is one shared from another user (93nighthawk) today after someone said their dealer denied hearing about the new memo

Sears thought they had the retail business figured out. How did that work out for them?

Glad you received your truck after 10 months.

My original order was November of 2021. Ford cancelled that order and I got my go back to start card.

I hardly ever post because I don't want to come across negatively, but I don't share your belief that Ford has it figured out.

This sounded like a post from someone who just ordered recently but I looked at your join date - March 2021. Didn't even know people knew about the Mav back then lol. Been waiting 14 months and I'm just starting to get frustrated with all of the order changes and new info coming out.

I agree, if you don't wanna wait - go spend more money or get something else. But there's no denying the process has been terrible. Most people never expected to be getting into something like this when they put their deposit down and made an order. I was told it'd be a few months and got dragged down the rabbit hole. Remember when we got the email from Ford at the end of 2021 assuring us that we'd get our 2022 Mavericks before the end of 2022? It's ok to bash Ford. In fact, they won't do anything to improve if people don't.
