My dealer put it in as a 10, which he recommended, on the second morning of the order bank. I received a confirmation from Ford that evening, but have not heard anything else. It’s a fairly basic hybrid. As I understand production capacity is 10,000 per month. The Ford email said it was one of the early orders, but the dealer estimated 6-9 months due to carryovers, and strong demand. When it arrives, it arrives.I think it's because I followed Tim's recommendation. I wouldn't put the order in unless it was priority 10.
What's everyone else's priority number?
Curious what exactly you would like from Ford? Just seeing as how they are still producing units for 2022 carryovers, I'm not really sure what you expected? What could Ford do to make you feel better about the situation? I guess I don't understand how having to wait is unprofessional......No, got someone who believe in professionalism.
Well, let’s see…competent communication. New concept? Competence in organizing a supply chain. Want more?Curious what exactly you would like from Ford? Every manufacturer is having the same issues with supply chain. The industry I work in is paying 3 times as much for materials and contracted labor than we did just a few years ago. We also still have lengthy delivery schedules that are often further delayed due to a number of factors. At least you can make a custom order with Ford, most other manufacturers you can't even make a factory order which makes that a moot point. Try making a factory order from Toyota or Hyundai. Also, you want one of the hottest vehicles on the market right now, demand far outweighs supply plus Ford is most likely putting their resources into more profitable models which limits their production for the Maverick. I don't see how someone telling you that you have to wait every month would change anything. You just ordered, how are you going to feel a year from now if you get rolled over to a 2024? You ordered on the second day of the order banks being open, maybe your dealer only gets allocated 12 Mavericks, 1 a month and maybe you were order number 13 or worse because a bunch of people ordered on the first day? I really don't get the communication part, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that the supply chain is a problem for everyone and the Maverick is a low priority seller for Ford when they can put those resources into very profitable Lightnings. Also, you should understand that Ford doesn't produce these things first come first served.Well, let’s see…competent communication. New concept? Competence in organizing a supply chain. Want more?
Wait is not…lack of and wrong communication is utterly unprofessional. Not having reliable supply sources and backup contingency is also unprofessionalCurious what exactly you would like from Ford? If it was JUST a Ford problem I would agree with you but it's not so your assessment doesn't really carry any weight with me. I think you're in for a pretty rough road waiting for your Maverick. Sorry.Wait is not…lack of and wrong communication is utterly unprofessional. Not having reliable supply sources and backup contingency is also unprofessional
When Ford does not communicate, gives wrong answers and leaves buyers hanging is unprofessional. The penny pinching just in time theory of supply acquisition has been a problem fir a long time. One source is also unprofessional. You must work for Ford.Every manufacturer is having the same issues with supply chain. It was only a problem when the global supply chain took a dump. Otherwise nobody complained. Every manufacturer these days runs on lean production which is why they're all hurting. It is trending back to normal albeit very slowly but there's no use in stockpiling parts when the economy could take a dive at any minute just to make YOU happy. I don't blame Ford, nor do I work for them or any of their suppliers. I'm just realistic and have common sense. When Ford does not communicate, gives wrong answers and leaves buyers hanging is unprofessional. - Ford does communicate. As noted way, way above if you are not getting emails from Ford its because they either did not get your email from your dealer or your dealer entered it wrong. Call or chat with Ford to get that fixedWhen Ford does not communicate, gives wrong answers and leaves buyers hanging is unprofessional.
Yup. And half the time when you call Ford Customer Service, they proclaim that they have no knowledge, can’t find your order, and then, an hour later, you get a different person and get completely difference answers.- Ford does communicate. - Exactly what 'wrong' answers have you received?
- I simply don't understand the 'hanging' part. Way up in this thread, numerous times people have told you how to get what information is available. Either go in and talk to your dealer or use the Ford chat or 800#.
- Bottom line you ordered a very in demand vehicle for which some people are still waiting for well over a year.
You are spot on. I've been dealing with this since October 2021. Ford wants to sell vehicles. When I used customer service they were always helpful. The main problems I found were from the dealer I went to on that first order. No allocations and failure to get COVP approval. My first dealer everything was a secret. That leaves the buyer in a blank space when the dealer isn't honest.- Ford does communicate. Sorry that has happened to you I can see it is stressful. But that has not been my experience. My calls have been professionally answered and though they did not always have the information I wanted they did a good job of explaining what they did know.Yup. I ordered one hybrid on Aug 2021 and I am still waiting. Patience my fellow future maverick owner. We ordered 2 hybrids on the first day of orders in September. Other than a email from Ford acknowledging the order, not a peep from Ford. Dealer has no idea, and in fact says it may never be built in spite of being a first day order. This is getting to be worse than 2022 production.
What is the number for Ford Chat?Sorry that has happened to you I can see it is stressful. But that has not been my experience. My calls have been professionally answered and though they did not always have the information I wanted they did a good job of explaining what they did know.
Chat in particular has been most helpful and accurate. I did receive different information several times, but it was still accurate on that day. The situation is fluid and CS can only tell you what is in their system at the time you call.
I am not sure what information you are trying to get. You placed two orders and unless they are being looked at for scheduling the only thing anyone can tell you is that you have two confirmed orders. They might get built in January or in July or never. No one can tell you anything different.
Chat with Ford and ask them to give you the order status for your orders. Or walk into your dealer and ask there, don't call, don't email, walk in and sit down. If the orders say "confirmed - clean" then that is absolutely all the information that is available.
