Today my NS automated message said “Actual placement of car” at 10:25 am.

So I found this explanation on the MachE Forum (just in case anyone is interested in these cryptic NS messages):
"Actual Placement of Car" is one of the final Norfolk Southern steps, meaning it has been placed at the facility for unloading. Next steps are "Unloading", followed by "Released Empty" (the railcar is completely unloaded, empty, and being sent back to Kansas City). Once these final steps are done my MME will be ready to be put on a car carrier and driven to the dealership.”

By the way, we have the EXACT same build except I got Shadow Black. Couldn't turn down the value and performance of an EcoBoost plus 4K tow package in a XL...and leaves so much room (and money) to customize.

Yes, the value! I have a pop up camper I have no way to tow and I couldn’t afford a bigger truck/SUV, so when the Mav showed up I was thrilled. So glad it was affordable and able to tow as much as it does. And glad we are getting them soon!

Finally got a change in status. The chat rep was able to tell me that the truck is traveling via Union Pacific and is in Colton, CA(about 1.5 hours from me). Still no further rail information to provide, which seems a bit off as it is on a rail car right now and in transit. But, at least it is no longer in Nogales.

My NS message now says “car empty” I think. It was hard to understand, but it was updated at noon today, so I’m guessing it’s ready for truck transport.

I’m going to call my dealer tomorrow to see if they know when they’re getting their next delivery. I hope they can tell me a day.

Does anyone know how long a dealer takes to prep the incoming vehicle for us? I need to sell my car before I get my mav and plan on using Carvana, but I need that buffer of a day or two before I go to the dealer. I need to time this right.

Just depends the dealer. If they aren't real busy and have the staff, it might only take a couple of hours to do the PDI and prep. If you're getting it from Granger, it may take a minute. They got 75 trucks in last week.

I feel ya. My current order has been offloaded at KC for 2 weeks. My initial delivery window closes tomorrow, but there has been a few others going to Granger that were on my train that got delivered in the last few days.
They’re slowing chipping away as fast as they can.

Well......shit. I did find it weird that I was not hearing any automated updates when I was calling in to UP and CSX for the last few days. Just kept telling me that it was loaded and sent out from the factory in Hermosillo. But never stated it had made it to any specific city or had a next stop, etc...

Did Ford chat to see if my railcar number changed for some reason and they said.....

"I am currently not given an updated railcar number at this time. I do have previously, Railcar # BNSF301634 (Ferrocarril Mexicano S.a. De C.v.). "

I did not think railcar numbers changed once it was loaded on a car.....but.....maybe? Them changing my railcar number would explain the sudden lack of tracking info.
