Thought it curious that the overhead interior lights only come on automatically when I shut down the vehicle. When unlocking the vehicle and opening the door to enter, those lights do not come on. Seems to me they should work in both instances. Can't help but wonder if something is cockeyed.

Does your instrument cluster power on when you open the door? Any issues with the passenger door touch-to-unlock working? It could be going into Deep Sleep mode due to battery voltage low.

Thank you responding. Nope. None of those issues occur.

That is a setting in our Mitsubishi.

Sounds like a deep sleep mode to me, my lights dont come on when unlocking or opening a door getting in if there was a deep sleep mode warning notification in the ford pass app

This is the most likely answer

I wasn't getting any deep sleep notifications like I did in the past, but now after launching the app the message appears as warning inside the app. Just drove it 6 miles . . . why would the vehicle go into deep sleep? Must be another thread. Thanks to all for your input. Most helpful.

Maybe the little toggle switch between the two overhead interior lights isn't in the middle position?

You raise a good point, but that's the first thing I checked. Thank you. I think the consensus on the thread is that it is a deep sleep issue and of course, that opens up a whole other can of worms.

Check the +12V battery voltage at the pins under the hood when the truck is off, likely down to ~11.7V or less.

Thank you, I will do so. I'm wondering if replacing the stock battery with better quality might solve this deep sleep phenomena

I’m experiencing identical issues with mine and plan to replace the battery to remove that from the equation. I’ve looked and found exactly zero ā€˜better’ or higher capacity batteries than the stock Motorcraft.

I’ve found that the truck will go into deep sleep and shut down the interior lights before sending an alert.

honestly these batteries in the hybrid are tiny and suck...literally any draw on them after the car is off will drop it bellow 12v in a few hours...i had a dashcam in parking mode and had to put the car on a battery tender every night if i didnt want to get the deep sleep error message

As much as I'm disappointed to hear that, thanks for passing along that information. There has to be a solution to this deep sleep scenario. It's annoying especially at night when it is difficult to see the interior. I have elderly family members who I sometimes drive around and they have a hard time settling themselves in. I may look into setting up a battery powered motion light. In fact, I've used these throughout my home (especially in the bathroom) and placed indiscreetly these could work quite well.

Update: After posting, I realized that since these will light up when sensing motion, not a good idea to have in your interior unless you all are as still as a mannequin. They do work well in the bathroom, though, especially when nature calls in the middle of night and you want to avoid searchlight level lighting when you're half-asleep.

Seems we are finding this to be true. The battery cannot handle any drain. Are we seeing this in any other of Ford's hybrids?
