trying to figure out an electrical gremlin. Installed the diode dynamics fog lights. Instead of a t-tap, I make a small harness that connects to the 12 pin molex and has an extra connector out for the fog lights. This worked fine for months.

Now my marker lights are having issues. Passenger side stopped working and I notice the DD amber's arent powered either. I removed the harness and hooked it up normally my marker lights work but the DD markers arent hooked up now. I did a continuity test on the harness and everything shows its still working. Any ideas?

The fog lights themselves still work. Its the amber backlights that dont work anymore.

I also asked this on facebook, Someone said that the bcm recall can cause the lights to shutoff if overloaded. One of the times where the light was working and I plugged in the fog light harness, The marker light blipped for a moment then stayed off.

So that I'm clear, you're talking about the side marker lights? You wrote "amber backlights". In any event, I wonder if replacing the current marker light bulbs with LED would lessen the load if that is what is causing the problem.

I've tried it with both LED and halogen testing today. I had LED's in when I got the bcm recall in mid may, It likely worked for a month or so before any issues started.

This very well could be on the DD fog light kit too. I'll have to try powering its marker lights from another source to see if they work. I'm not sure the last time they actually worked but, I'll be trying to figure it out.

The BCM recall was only to detect bulbs out on the rear brake/turn lights.

The lights would always shut off when overloaded.

If they do shut off due to overload, the lights need to be cycled off and back on at the headlight switch to turn them on in the BCM. If they turn on when you remove your inline harness and don't cycle the switch, then the inline harness would most-likely be the issue.

Are you utilizing the DD included relay and harness or powering the back light directly?
Yes, I'm using the DD harness. All my harness does is act as a splitter so I didn't have to use t taps. 5 wires just go straight through and the 10 pin wire has a split in it.
