With VW's official launch of the Scout Motors website, we'd like to invite everyone interested to a new sister-site for the Scout EV pickup & SUV:

ScoutEVforum -- https://www.scoutevforum.com/

And here's the new Scout official teaser just posted by VW / Scout:

Darn, hadn't heard about this but looks like it's not expected until 2026. It'll be interesting to see what the EV market looks like then, but too far off for me to follow a forum that I'll inevitably forget about.

I genuinely wish VW success. But I'm dubious. VW has botched the US market for the last 30+ years. They are huge worldwide, but they are generally perceived as an ongoing sales failure in the USA. Nobody says their vehicles are bad, just that they are not sales successes to a scope that reflects VW's gargantuan market share elsewhere.

They're holding their own in the EV world though - the ID.4 is pretty popular in that circle. Add to that the incoming ID.Buzz van, they'll have a leg up on more domestic names with the Scout.

I think VW has stated the reanimated Scout brand will be all EV. Maybe their way to get around the dealer network as it will be a new company. Or brand. Or division. Or something...............

I read an article saying they did not even know they owned the Scout brand name and trademark until they discovered it was part of the intellectual property they acquired with Navistar (formerly International Harvester).

Saw a Rivian PickupTruck for the first time today. Other than the puny looking A-Pillars, it looked much better in person than in photos.
The Rivian is kinda cool looking after you get used to it. Quite an awesome vehicle and accomplishment by the company. Out of my price range, or even needs but still a nice truck. There are several in my area and I see them on the road often.

Who cares about an EV I sure NEVER want one,. Plus the website has no information . Is there going to be a hybrid if not who cares.
Me for one :). Not you I guess? So no Scout for you, they are the future: pure EV.

I mean, *I* care about EVs.

I plan on my Maverick being the last gas powered car I buy.

Me too. The hybrid Maverick will cover us on any trips I don't feel comfortable using an EV. My wife's next vehicle will be electric. Might be '24 or '25, as soon as she sees something she likes to replace her Toyota Highlander.

Given ~6% of new car sales in the US are electric, I'd say a non zero amount of people. And since it's up from 2% 2 years ago, it seems to be increasing. Within California, it's something like 17-18% of new car sales. Globally, 13% of new car sales.
