I have an order in with this dealer for 2023. I see a couple days ago that they have a 2022 that someone walked away from that is the same specs of what I ordered but it is marked up 15,000…that’s the highest mark up in a 250 radius. I told me dealer that I would love to walk away with this truck for Veterans Day and avoid driving elsewhere for a truck. According to them the only have an allocation for 1 hybrid for the whole year so the chances of mine being picked are up in the air! Anyone have any tip or tricks for negotiating? I started off with an offer of 2k over msrp, finance through them and I have a trade in. As I was looking for this link they drop the mark up to 10k

A person would have to be pretty hard up to pay that kinda of price, it's not worth that no matter how good the MPGs are. Are you the only one who has a hybrid on order from them? If so you have a chance of getting it, if there are other orders then try to deal, the only leverage would be what you want to get for your trade in to offset some of the adm.

Update: surprisingly, I have got them down to 3,995 over msrp. I’m going in tonight to talk more. I have the student incentive of 750 bonus cash . Ideally want them to do 3,000 over msrp ( walking away with closer to 2,250 difference in msrp ) . I can sleep at night with that…plus it’s a 2022 lux so actually has more stuff than the 2023 lux I order so it breaks even at that (spray In, remote start, bed rail )

That's getting there. 3k over and it's basically a wash compared to the MY23 msrp

That’s what I was thinking…not sure what they were thinking with 15k mark up originally. 37.5 k for a fully decked out maverick sounds reasonable to me…comparing to 2023 with the same features I’m look at 36,000 according to the ford builder

Do it. It's worth it to be able to relax and enjoy it NOW.

I did a similar deal in Sept. right before the order banks opened and slammed shut. So glad I took one home when I did. My trade in had an inflated trade in value too so the ADM wasn't bad out the door.

DO IT!

Suckers be out there. I agree with the other poster below above me. You should probably go claim it if you're comfortable with everything. With scheduling being so unknown for 23.

I'll tell ya why they post high ADM.

Weeds out the window shoppers. People who aren't that interested will walk away. And they won't waste time with test drives and rack up miles on the ONE truck they have because of "curious people".

Final update: I am now a hybrid Lux lariat owner! We settled on 3,500 over which means a sticker price of 37,965. I really wanted to only do only 2,000 over msrp but they added ceramic coating and paint line blah blah. I really had little position to negotiate to begin with other than really guilty into not screwing over a veteran right before Veterans Day 😂. I’ll post some pics in the morning of my new baby

Negotiation is all about your position. Unfortunately, you are not in the strongest position because someone will pay that markup.

Long McAurthor Ford has the Ford Video Guy and they will sell you a Maverick Ecoboost for only $2,500 over MSRP.

Call or email [email protected] or callLong McAurthor in Selina, KS.

You can also search here on the form for the @fordvideoguy.

Good Luck.

You really think these dealers would rather mark them $15k over and sit on them for 2 weeks to then sell it for $4k over, instead of listing them for $4k over and having people lining up begging them to buy it right off the truck? They list it high hoping to find a sucker.
