I wonder if the 23s that are getting scheduled are from dealers who have no 22 carryovers?
I'm almost sure my smaller dealer in N Georgia did not have any roll overs from '22. I ordered an XLT AWD Ecoboost through them and haven't gotten any other emails from Ford except the order confirmation. Sounds like a luck of the draw for those people who have gotten build dates.

Although both my father and I trucks got scheduled yesterday for 12/12, I’m still very interested how Ford is selecting who gets scheduled (I know we all are). To me I think dealer allocation is the biggest factor, then priority. The trucks that were scheduled for us were ordered on 9/20 and literally the last two orders the dealership took before the order banks closed. They put them in as priority 10. Both of these are hybrid lariats luxes and non rollover orders. However, my buddy ordered a hybrid lariat as well on 9/16, with a priority 10 from a different dealership and he didn’t get scheduled yesterday. I’m not sure how many roll-overs each of the dealership had though which throws in another curve ball I guess. I am also reading that some priority 19 trucks got scheduled yesterday as well. It has to be a dealership allocation as the driving force..

Anyway, assuming we get the trucks that were scheduled yesterday, we have two back up orders at other dealerships. If the back up orders ever get scheduled and built and none of our friends or family want them, I will reach out on here to see if we can help out anyone here that had their orders cancelled or never placed by their dealer. Both would be hybrid lariat with lux packag

What does dealer allocation mean? How does allocation effect a customers ability to have his car scheduled? thanks for any understanding you can give

Allocation is how many trucks are assigned to be built for a dealer. For example, if Ford only allocates 20 builds to your dealer but 150 people order trucks from your dealer, only 20 of those 150 trucks will get built. The 20 trucks that will be built in this example will be determined by order priority and constraints, I believe @scotty

No idea. But it's ridiculous in my mind. There are customers who have been waiting over a year to be scheduled.

I also ordered 9/17/22, Area 51 hybrid XL, trailer hitch, spare tire, spray-in bedliner...sadly, no email from Ford for confirmation, I called the Ford Marketing and they said that my order is confirmed.
I never received a confirmation email either had to confirm with marketing support. Called dealer Friday was told no updates Ford would email me when it was scheduled for production. Called marketing again this morning was told i had a scheduled build date Dec.. 5th and was given my VIN.

It’s pretty sad that 2023s are being scheduled before 2022s
This is how Ford loses customers. And once they turn to another brand, it will be a long time before the look at Ford again, if they ever.

They specifically said over and over we would be prioritized. It just makes you laugh! I am happy to see people getting their trucks soon... I just wish I was one of them. I had TEN BUILD DATES and the tenth pushed me into a 2023 model. If it wasn't for the fact that these new customers had VIN numbers I would say we still have a chance to be built before them... but are they really going to build VIN # 6901 before VIN # 0001? I don't think so...

It's been 40 yrs.

I received mine last Friday. Looking like it'll be built 11/28.

Thanks for answering. That does appear to be bizarre if I understand you correctly.

Bizarre in the sense that every potential buyer of the maverick would ask dealers in their surrounding areas "how many mavericks are going to be presented to Ford from your customers on opening day for orders?" The result would be: never purchase a maverick from any dealer having more then i.e. 15 cars. Go the dealership have the least orders being placed.

The allocation is based off how many vehicles (mavericks, Bronco sports, and Escapes) were sold during the month last year... so the dealership that sells more will have more vehicles allocated.

If that is correct and not saying it isn't does the dealer knows this? if so should he not cancel at least 100 of those orders. There would be no way at least 100 of them ever getting one in your example . Seems like a good way to get ford haters. I guess they don't care??

Tim from LM [fordvideoguy] went into some detail in one of his videos... Ford has flipped the allocation methodology a couple times... I don't think it was very clear to the dealers how many vehicles they would receive. And back in March Ford posted here saying they would do away with the allocation system and handle orders by the FIFO methodology (first in first out) but that obviously was short lived... so who knows honestly. I am no expert on it.
