Great. called service yesterday. we discussed the possibility it was the bad connection/crimp issue. parts are on backorder. for those that are keeping track, i think mine was manufactured on 4/2022.
According to Ford, any Maverick Hybrid produced before mid-May of 2022 can experience the wiring harness-dead battery issue. Hopefully Ford has this fixed for the later builds.

I put a digital battery gauge in mine.
They are expensive so it's not for everyone.

Just by casual glances I've noticed 3% to 4% battery charge loss overnight. I will start to keep a journal for a couple of weeks to see how consistent this is.

I have an XLT so no keyless start and I'm losing juice overnight more than I would expect. If this is "normal" we'll never be able to park longer than 10 days which would be absurd.

can you share a little more about the digital battery gauge? I've often wondered if there was a way to easily monitor the battery level

Fwiw it's not always a harbinger of doom. Could just be a low 12v battery. I got it several times yesterday with my hybrid, but I believe it was because I spent a couple hours detailing my truck with my keys in my pocket (so it was constantly pinging the intelligent access) and was also in and out of the truck a lot while I cleaned the inside.

Took it for a 10 minute spin to top off the 12v last night, and it's been fine since

All these issues with electronics reminds me why my father disliked power windows and any other “electronic” features.…..”just more things to go wrong”. Guess that still applies.
Eh. My first car was manual everything - windows, locks, etc. Crank windows blow and are incredibly inconvenient if you have to open any window other than the driver's side (if it's just you in the car). And I accidentally locked myself out constantly because without a fob, it was so easy to leave your keys in the car and lock it.

Give me the convenience of electronics with their very low likelihood of failure any day

Did you happen to walk by your truck a lot with the key in your pocket? If you do that it pre energizes stuff and makes all kinds of clicking sounds every-time you get close with the key in your pocket. I was working on my truck the other day and going in and out of it probably around ten times. The key was in my pocket and the truck was clicking away each time I got close. I then got the remote features have been disabled and deep sleep message. Don't no the reason why it needs to energize stuff before you get in. Any one know if the key proximity can be turned off?
I assume that would only effect Lariat Hybrids with push button start, since the XL and XLT only have traditional fobs. Hybrids click and clatter away for hours even if you don't have the key near them.

Mine is a basic xlt with a key. It clicks away when close with the key fob. I have never heard it clicking or making sounds when the key is far away in my bedroom.

What I'm getting at is the XLT and XL do not have proximity keys, only the Lariat has that.

No. What I'm saying is:

I park with the HV battery at 40%.
Next morning (12 hour later) it is 35%.
I take that to mean that the bms used that HVB 5% to maintain the 12v at above possibly 12.1 but not more than 12.4 (or some range) and will continue to do so until HVB soc is at some point say 30% (maybe 20%?) at which point it will let 12v drop to the voltage (?v) which triggers deep sleep. I say this because of necessity for 12v to run those things that never sleep and there is energy in HVB to do so. This must happen since flat towing requires 15 minutes of run time every six hours which would not be near enough time to charge 12v. I have read where others claimed that no matter how long they have driven that the HVB will be at 35% the next am so maybe that is the minimum allowed HVB SOC. See if you can have a higher soc when you park it for the night? Would be nice to know as I have my doubts when people they have the HVB almost completely charged.

The basic xl and xlt must have some kind of proximity sensors in the fob. Not to open the truck but to get things energized.. Like I said it only starts clicking and making sound when close to it with the keys in my pocket.

At the same time it's not 100% indicative of the cable failure. The batteries can be prone to being drained low enough to trigger this alert, especially if you're opening/closing the doors frequently. Hybrid Escapes encounter it as well and there's even some EcoBoost Mavericks getting deep sleep messages.
Agree. Mine did this once about a month ago and I thought it might be the dreaded bad cable. Trickle charged the battery and the message has never returned. I think a friend driving it was playing with buttons and inadvertently turned the bed light on the cab and ran down the battery. I can see how easy it is to accidentally turn it on but not notice since there is no indicator light in the cab for it. What's with that Ford?

By 'casual glances' do you mean you look in at the meter and the truck is not 'on'? If so, does that mean the meter is on all night and drawing power?

What's the current draw for the meter? Is it possible the loss you see is due to the meter?

Thanks

A few observations:. Manual p311 right col under note 3rd paragraph "if you DISCONNECT or replace battery and have automatic trans it must relearn .. ". Then in next topic: Battery sensor reset "When you install new battery (if disconnecting neg cable as in above requires trans to relearn would disconnecting neg cable on hybrid require performing this reset to insure that bms has not lost it's knowledge of the 12v state of charge).
ALSO on p312 under Battery Management System in last paragraph. "After battery replacement" (reattaching neg cable?) (Or possibly any event like maybe entering deep sleep mode that might cause bms to lose SOC or knowledge of battery type so it has lost which charging patterns to use?) "The BMS system requires 8 hours of vehicle sleep time to relearn the battery state of charge. DURING THIS TIME VEHICLE MUST REMAIN FULLY LOCKED WITH IGNITION OFF (Doesn't say but also turn Ford pass off and keep ALL keys out of range in my opinion). I personally lock my truck once a week and leave it alone overnight even if it's in my garage. I have no idea if this helps. My lariat was built early 2022 or at least the tires on it were made in Jan 2022✅ and I have had no battery issues.
ALSO: OF INTEREST p325 preparing your vehicle for storage for 30 days or more engine paragraph requires engine to be started EVERY 15 DAYS (DANG???) for a minimum of 15 minutes with climate controls set to defrost and at fast idle (this should add charge to HVB and 12v) and shift through gears etc.

They have those that plug into the 12V lighter style connector. They are cheap.

Yes easy and cheap.... for 12 volts.

I'm using a $200 (ish) ScanGaugeIII to use the ODBII port to read the high voltage 220 volt hybrid battery.

I am logging HV battery status for about 2 weeks then I will post results.

Note:
A) the scanner "shuts off" automatically
B) not trusting it, I am disconnecting it every night and bring it in the house. Also in San Francisco areas I don't want it to get stolen overnight.

Ah the HV battery. My CRZ has an indicator on the dash showing the state of charge on the hybrid battery. Mav don't have that?
