To answer your question, yes. It is a sign of a battery issue, and often precedes the discovery of larger issues (like the battery lug/cable solder/crimp problem with Hybrids).

Did you happen to walk by your truck a lot with the key in your pocket? If you do that it pre energizes stuff and makes all kinds of clicking sounds every-time you get close with the key in your pocket. I was working on my truck the other day and going in and out of it probably around ten times. The key was in my pocket and the truck was clicking away each time I got close. I then got the remote features have been disabled and deep sleep message. Don't no the reason why it needs to energize stuff before you get in. Any one know if the key proximity can be turned off?

Great. called service yesterday. we discussed the possibility it was the bad connection/crimp issue. parts are on backorder. for those that are keeping track, i think mine was manufactured on 4/2022.

I have only the knowledge from this forum, but I think that is one way the issue reveals itself.

Do you keep your keys stored close to the garage? I don't no the distance of the key proximity but maybe it was just close enough...

At the same time it's not 100% indicative of the cable failure. The batteries can be prone to being drained low enough to trigger this alert, especially if you're opening/closing the doors frequently. Hybrid Escapes encounter it as well and there's even some EcoBoost Mavericks getting deep sleep messages.

All these issues with electronics reminds me why my father disliked power windows and any other “electronic” features.…..”just more things to go wrong”. Guess that still applies.

I put a digital battery gauge in mine.
They are expensive so it's not for everyone.

Just by casual glances I've noticed 3% to 4% battery charge loss overnight. I will start to keep a journal for a couple of weeks to see how consistent this is.

I have an XLT so no keyless start and I'm losing juice overnight more than I would expect. If this is "normal" we'll never be able to park longer than 10 days which would be absurd.

I've had this warning but only after a couple of days of not driving the vehicle. It could be that your battery is low (from driving around the city all day on battery mode only) without the chance to regen?

No. What I'm saying is:

I park with the HV battery at 40%.
Next morning (12 hour later) it is 35%.
