NO Maverick FOR ME. I ordered Maverick last October, Hybrid, Lariat, white, LUX, 360 with a $500 deposit. Stopped at the dealer, VIC BAILEY Ford, Spartanburg SC, six weeks ago and was told if the truck had to be rolled over as a 23 model year the dealership would do it automatically. I did not have to do anything. When the order bank opened for the 23's I did nothing as instructed. Two weeks I called Ford directly. Ford rep told me there was a four-digit number missing from the order that had to be entered by dealer. I contacted the dealer by phone and no one ever called me back. I always had to contact them (shitty service). I finally was able to talk to a senior manager, James, (he never called back either). I was asked why I had not responded to Ford's email with instructions on rolling over to a 23. I never received any such email! Three days after the date he said he would call I reached out to him. James said that the order was not going to be fulfilled. He did not know where the error occurred (of course). James did offer an option. Next year when order banks open I can order a 24model year Maverick. Yes, that was the only option. My reply was to return my deposit. I will never buy a Ford vehicle nor buy from Vic Bailey, including their other dealerships.
I own a 2014 Honda CR-V with 53k miles. It runs great. I'm changing the original tires and performing a few other maintenance items and keeping for a while. What a shitty experience with Ford and Vic Bailey Ford.
Maybe on your original order you should have taken it upon yourself to make sure Ford had your email address so you could get all of the necessary updates so you weren't left out of the loop! Sounds like there was a little bit of dropping the ball on both sides 🤔

Find a better dealer.
Find a better company. Does Ford really think that just because they happen to have a hot product, that yhey can just screw people? There will come a time that they will wish they had buyers for acres of unsold product. Of course, today's execs will be gone by then.

If I hadn't joined this site, I would never have known about 22 orders rolling over to 23s or when the process took place. There has been zero communication from local dealers. In September, I communicated the switch with my dealership and if I hadn't, I'd be in the same situation as OP. Everything about this buying 'experience' is super frustrating.

If Ford runs out of buyers, then that means no buyers exist. They do sell the #1 selling truck for the past 40 or so years, in addition to the Mustang and Transit (among other models)

You will always be your own best advocate. I learned that early in my career, and apply it to many things inside and outside of work. Don't trust others to protect your interests without verifying they haven't dropped the ball.

Blame lies first with dealer, second with OP for not following up. Don't really fault Ford beyond the system they set up being clunky.
Seems strange that Ford took the dealers out of the equation on rollover of orders which had VIN's but could not or did not do the same on MY22 rollovers without VIN's. On
"regular" rollovers they involved the dealers!! It seems to me that they should have a handle on dealer capabilities and act accordingly. Maybe that is what they did with the orders with VIN's.

Using email only as communication is just wrong! I never got any email using the email given to Ford/dealership BEFORE picking up truck and I only knew it arrived when my salesman called to tell me the dealership sold it to someone else, and I needed to rush over and claim it if still available.
AFTER they sold my email address to 3rd parties to survey and market finally got a email but not from Ford!!!
Probably an email from that 7th sense outfit. I don't recall giving them permission to sell my data. But it's probably buried somewhere.

Ford's email service has never work for me and I am sure to check the email address with customer service everytime I call them. I have never received an email from Ford for my fulfilled 2022 order or my new 2023 order.

It must be the luck of the draw I'm in hawai and waited 10 months to get my hybrid and every time there was something going on with my truck I got an email from Ford letting me know what the status of my truck was

Interesting - Vic Bailey "was" my dealer also. EcoBoost Lariat, LUX, 360, 4K tow package canceled.

Every car company has shitty dealers. And they are forced to work through dealers by state law in many cases. So blame your state;s legislature.

Ford corporate had all the information it needed to automatically roll over everyone’s 2022 order without intervention. If options or equipment changed they still could have rolled the orders with the closest substitutions and then contacted those dealers and customers for clarification or changes. There is absolutely no reason any orders should be lost or canceled.

There is a third possibility though… perhaps the dealer did receive the truck and sold it retail without telling the OP. Then claim the order was “lost”. (but that would ~never~ happen, would it???)
