And yet employers across the nation can't find workers.

My boyfriend's daughter is 25. She applied to tons of jobs, her degrees not a factor just trying to find work. They wouldn't hire. I see tons of Hiring signs and they don't actually seem to be hiring. It's weird.

I have had a few interviews already. One about 3 hours from where I live now and one across country. Would be desirable to stay in this area with a daughter in college but I gotta do what I gotta do. One across country sounds promising and it's doing the same thing I do now with my current employer. The good thing about staying with the same company is benefits would probably be continuous. And I need insurance because our youngest child is a type 1 diabetic and we need insulin and insulin pump supplies.

the official unemployment figure is dishonest because it excludes from the count the million unemployed Americans who have given up looking for a job. You don’t count as “unemployed” unless you are actively looking for a job.

The LFPR has us over the 1950s through the mid 1970s (as far back as I looked). The decrease from the 80s through the early 2000s is due mostly to the Boomers leaving the force.
