Nobody is making excuses. No one lied to us in August. Information was the best available at the time.

Take your "I hate Ford glasses" off and look around.
Car lots have very few cars. Any make or model.
Auto plants, all manufactures world wide, are experiencing shut downs due to missing components. Chips are just one of many.
Store shelves are empty. Each week it is a different commodity.
The world supply chain is in a mess like we have never seen before.
You act like Jim Farley doesn't want to build your truck.

And NO.....Bill and Nancy’s Snack Stand at Misty Meadow Lake would not get more RC or Dr Pepper because there supplier would not have any.
I guess we will have to agree to disagree about Ford’s actions.

Quick observation and all I ask is that you internalize it for a moment before you yell at me for posting LOL.

The wait has been extremely long, a year plus for some, there have been many frustrations and poor communication as well. All that has caused what appears to be some shorter fuses than need be; what are you talking about you say?

Well, it seems lately that some of the responses to a lot of folks posts have been short, or irritated undertones, even a bit brash. I think folks should keep in mind there is a new batch of orders in, new fans of the Maverick, and new owners. Some folks have questions that yes have been answered before or that may seem basic but weren't we all there?

Besides, what else are we gonna do with our time?? Hahaha

Ok, now you can persecute me, I have thick skin, go for it :)
I have waited over a year and a half, sold my car when mine finally said it was in production a month ago, 2 weeks after I sold it my wife's car got totalled. Had to go get her a new car and share 1 car while I wait for mine. Which just shipped yesterday. All while never complaining. But some people just have no patience, if you want to get what you want you might have to wait for it.

I'm one of the "don't specifically need the Maverick but wanted one" club. Had many F150's over the years, life changed, scaled back to Ford Escapes, then life changed again and I'm driving an EcoSport now...

Totally unrelated, but how do you like your EcoSport? They kinda look like baby shoes, but they were some of my favorite cars to drive when I used to shuttle rentals...

And please stop using the term "price gouging" when talking about items that are not a necessity such as vehicles...

I like it. I've really got no complaints. Can get around well in the snow here. I moved down to it from an Escape after an FX4 F150 though. I can also fit 2 antique traffic lights in the back also LOL.

Having a Maverick would make it much easier.

It makes you wonder how many Ford customer service people quit over trying to answer everyone. I bet turnover there is high.
I felt so bad for my salesperson yesterday. She said she had 45 calls to make based on that vague memo. She said in all her years, it was the most stressful day at work ever. She is a person of integrity and isn't one who rips people off.

I've been trying to take a breath for years. Thank you, US Army...

The rest of this is completely ignorable. Feel free to do so:
Ford is a multi billion dollar corporation. As such it is not inherently evil, but it isn't also inherently good. They are legally obligated to do one main thing: make money for their shareholders. It's part of the reason I always recommend against taking a company public.

Keep that in mind. You have a company of thousands of workers making thousands of decisions everyday. The CEO cannot be involved in all of them. As a manager myself, I know sometimes you are simply given the choice of crap and crap, but on a stick. So, what do you choose?

Ford very likely should have seen the demand as there has been a pent-up need for an inexpensive truck since the Great Recession. But unfortunately, they made their bed and can't really do anything about it. Supply chains take years to manage.

I have an EB order and so I am in a better position to get a truck than the Hybrid ones out there. My dealer told me late spring but I am well aware it could take a year. If it does, oh well. If it never comes at all, then so be it.

It will be nice to have it but I won't allow my day-to-day happiness be tied to whether there is yet another car loan in my garage.

It's the not knowing whether ford will build the truck you ordered; that's tuff.
If ford came out and said "we will build all the M23 Mavericks ordered and rolled over" we would have a different attitude.

Even if they came out and said that, would you even trust it? I have been dealing with multiple car manufacturers, since I am not expecting the maverick in a reasonable time, and none of them are remotely in Ford's situation.

I know what you mean. I would rather know today they plan to cancel my order than a year from now. It at least gives me time to look for something else. Even if they came out and said, "we can't build them all. Some of you will be cancelled. But we don't know which ones yet because of how the constraints lie" then at least expectations can be managed. That said, hybrid seems to be the biggest constraint. If they can only make 25,000 and they have 50,000 orders for hybrid, then they need to bite the bullet and cancel the 25,000 they know they can't make. All they are doing is making today's problem tomorrow's problem.

Likewise, Ford has X amount of Tremors to build. So, order X+1 and later should just go ahead and be cancelled because there is no way it gets built. In a perfect world, the cancelled hybrids and Tremors would be automatically rolled over to EB and the customer would have the option to keep the order and their place in line or to simply walk.

Army Engineer (Rick) I think you were a minority in ordering a Boss most of my friends did the GTO. Both good choices. These guys need a 2 year short timers calendar (For Rick my prefix was US and proud of it send you hav my admiration for being RA) If it arrives early think of it as an early out and be happy. I was lucky I got my 2.0 Lariat because of a walk away and I thank him every day. Mileage is better than the Boss or GTO I had a 350 Cutlas (S) and I could not drive to KC Mo from St Louis without stopping to buy gas. We are back to the 60’s and 70’s when you went to the dealership did a test drive and sat down and filled out the order and had to wait for a delivery date. No way to follow your order except call your salesman and he would have to call Ford to get a status and call you back. I had to wait 4 months for my Cutlas and it was worth the wait. Waiting for the Maverick is worth while after my 3 month driving experience. The only thing I no not like is the Apple link hard wire connection. I hate cables all over the counsel. Ford needs a better idea. I saw a plug in Wi Fi blue tooth connector I am going to look for something like that. Just e patient and think of the fun you will have when it arrives.

Bronco and Bronco Sport came out in 2021. Maverick came out in 2022, haven't even gotten onto the 2023 production yet. How is that not a new process its was a year old? Plus it was largely untested during the planning so it could be implemented for the Maverick. And it basically worked for the Bronco Sport.

Unexpected demand married with unprecedented times, and with a new process (yes was only a year old so that is new) means growing pains. Early adopters always have to deal with that stuff. If you don't like it wait 3-4 years for the bugs to be worked out.
When Ford cancelled their car line and then offered an inexpensive 4 door hybrib, and then everyone saying that this order frenzy is unexpected...then I totally do not understand this premise. Ford hooked us like a hungry fish.

I'm hooked! I would LOVE to give them $30K. Just give me the truck!

If my 22 order doesn't get fulfilled then I'm going with a pre-owned Chevy Colorado V6 4WD. That was a fun test drive. Only picked the Maverick due to the cost of a new vehicle

"Ford" never over promised or underdelivered anything. Unscrupulous salespeople? Maybe, but not the company itself. Growing pains are the rule, not the exception in new vehicle launches. Seen a production Cybertruck yet?
