I have got an email from my Ford dealership with the subject line being "Taking Orders for Your New 2023 Ford".
The content was to click on a link where I can make a new Ford custom order at this Ford dealership's homepage.
What caught my eyes is below:
Ford Maverick MY 2024 Maverick custom orders starting?? 1666117103138

Ford Maverick MY 2024 Maverick custom orders starting?? 1666117134345

Not sure what to think of it...

Edit: just googled MY24 Maverick orders and this site looks alike than my dealer:

The moral of the story: Ford is good at taking "orders". Not so good at fulfillment. This may be an opportunity for someone who wants a Maverick in 2025.:(

Maybe each month we can pre-order a newer year of Mavericks?
September for MY23, October for MY24, November will be for MY25? And so forth?
Not sure how much ahead Ford wants to pre-sale o_O

Accounting types do like to have order backlogs on the books.

Pretty sure "preorder" just means they put you on their call back list so they have your personal info to contact you when they get a turned down retail order and want to sell with huge ADM if they can talk you into it. I'm sure MANY dealers still have MANY people that didn't get 2023 orders in before Order Banks closed and they would logically be ahead of you on any 2024 order lists.

It's just a dealership taking "pre-orders", but they won't be able to submit anything with Ford until the order bank officially re-opens.
