I bought these lights as I have seen several trucks in my area fitted with similar ones. Since I have a hitch connection, these looked like a very simple installation. However, they are not lighting up. So I checked my hitch wiring with a trouble light and that is working. I had a 12v adapter so I checked the led lights, and they are working. But plugging into the hitch outlet, no lights whatsoever. Any ideas?

Be aware that using your 4-pin hitch receiver electrical connection will disable the truck's blind spot warning system. Since the sensors are in the rear bumper cover, it was logical that a trailer would interfere with them. As far as I know, there is no setting to override this, such as telling the truck that it's just a light.

I've read that you might be able to get the blind spot warning system back if you disable 1 of the 4 pins, but I'm not sure which.

Thanks for the heads up. I can’t get the lights to work anyways, so unless I can figure out how to install, I may just have to return them.

Amazon special may just flat out be wired wrong. They even have an extra wire just fading off into nothingness in the image.

Do a search someone did get light to work by altering the 4 pin plug that they attached to their light which was mounted in their hitch receiver. Easiest would possibly to use either of the 12v hot wires in the bed.

Yep, I can't tell you how many times I didn't get lighting to work because of a poor ground.
Also remember led bulbs only work if current flows the correction. If you reverse pos and neg wires they will not work. The guy that rewired the 4 prong had to change the wiring because his truck was checking circuits and did not find a trailer so it deactivated the 4 pin plug. I'll see if I can find it.

That wire is for hooking up backup lights if you wish to.

Thanks. I’ll check again, but my trouble 12v light worked in the hitch receiver plug. I’ve run into ground issues in the past. I’ll try to use pieces of wire from the hitch plug to the led plug to see if it’s the grounding issue in the led plug.

Ok, found this. I would make a short extension to plug in and cut wires in the extension and leave the 4 pin on the truck intact.

You aware that the 4 pin has no constant power? You will need the truck running lights on to get power to the 4 pin.

Thanks!. Hmm. Well I may have to try that but I’ll check with that post to see if he lost his blind spot feature.

If the description of the product you bought is accurate, it states 'amber' turn signals, the Maverick does not have those. I do know that vehicle 4 pin wiring is different if you have separate amber turn signals.
