The day has finally come. After about 330 days my 22 Lariat Lux (Ecoboost) will be ready for pick up on Friday. For those lucky souls who have been able to get to this point in the process do you have any info/tips/suggestions that I should be aware of on pick up date? My dealer has been pretty good about communication and is one of those dealers that sells at MSRP. I have read about making sure the dealer smartvincent system uses order date versus delivery date to make sure that I am getting the price protection and the rate protection. I have also ran the VIN at the NHTSA and it is not impacted by any of the recalls (at this point). Anything I should look out for or double check on the test drive that is particular on this specific model?

Any other info would be awesome.

Congrats! - you're going to love it. I would recommend looking at the paint. I took delivery in August and found paint issues in two places. The dealer said it would have been hard to get them repaired by Ford if I had driven it off the lot before pointing them out. Had two chips behind door that looked like shipping issues and two by the headlight that looked like installation dings. Ford took care of it, and I got to drive a Lightning for three days while they did the repair.

Check the tire pressure - many of our trucks were significantly overinflated at delivery.

Don't buy any of the snake oil the finance department wants to sell you like magic air in the tires, protection this and coating that. It's all useless garbage.

When getting a new car I always check the VIN on the paperwork to make sure that it matches the VIN on the vehicle. It only takes 30 seconds to do but in very rare cases there have been mix ups that might not have been found until later when it was a mess to fix up.

I have not gotten my Maverick yet so I am not sure of the specific details for the Maverick but look for some sort of tag on the keys with a number on it. This number is important since it is needed to make additional keys so put it in a safe place. I also email this to myself so that I will have access to it if I am out of town and I lose my key. There was a thread about this not long ago that you can likely find. On some cars there is also an anti theft activation code for the stereo that needs to be entered after a power loss.

You may want to check the oil level as well as the other fluids. Also check the level of the gasoline, your paperwork should say if you should get a full tank of gas or not.

Check the tire pressure but I think you can do that in the dash with the tire pressure monitoring system. It should match what the label on the inside of the drivers door says it should be.

Go through the car and make sure that you have all the add ons like the jack and owners manual.

In addition to checking the paint like someone suggested also check the windshield and other glass for any chips or cracks.

This right here. Learn to say "no." As long as you keep your vehicle serviced and keep the fluids topped off and clean, your EB will run for a million miles.

Second is before you pull out of the lot, go ahead and call your insurance company to have the vehicle added. They usually give a grace period but I never tempt them.

This one caught me with the Escape: make sure the dealer gives you the keypad entry code and have them show you how to change it. I had to hunt down the control board to find the sticker with my number because the dealer-I-blacklisted failed to provide that information to me and then didn't return my calls.

Make sure you have the FordPass points paperwork. It's a free $210 for accessories once it comes in.

Definitely insist the tire pressure is reduced from shipping pressure to spec (see sticker on driver's door jamb). Without delving too deep into the obvious (headlights, taill lights and wipers), confirm all power windows operate smoothly up and down, that antenna stalk has been screwed into the roof receptacle, that horn works and (if so equipped) bed lighting works and 110 volt plugs, if any, are powered (bring along a small plug-in radio or portable lamp or something of the like to test). Oh, and open the hood and close it to determine it does so as expected and is not out of alignment (highly, highly unlikely but doesn't take but five seconds to check). Also release the pull latch on the rear seat, raise it into locked position and then release the latch again to lower it to determine if it properly latches. Also bring the back of the rear seat forward to confirm jack equipment pack is there.

Couldn't hurt to bring along some music you've put on a flash drive and plug that in to test the audio system.

One more thing - lower the tailgate and gently push the rear down and let it return to its normal position, listening for any telltale squeaks or rattles.

When should you get the Ford Pass App. My Mav is in production. Can I get it now, or should I wait until I take possession?

I don't think there is anything stopping you from signing up now. You just won't have a vehicle to add to it. It is basically your Ford account. Since you get credit for using their service center, you could even earn FPP taking an old Chevy to the shop.

These are all great suggestions. In fact I’m getting out a pad to take these notes with me, when I pick up my truck, after it’s scheduled build week of next Monday October 10th. I took screen shots of Flood Ford warranty page prices, and a screen shot of the Smart Vincent instructions and notes of Low Coolant, High Tire pressure and if the audio and front and back power USB/USC work and a small plug in charger for the rear seat and bed outlets. Going to pick it up on a clear day, daytime and take my time…. Please realize this is my plan…. I’m hoping not to just sign, and drive away.

You can get the App at anytiime. I added my Maverick to my existing account as soon as I had the VIN. You can't activate the vehicle until you take possession because you need to confirm the activation from the vehicle.

From the Bronco6G Forums for reference:
DELIVERY CHECKLIST (OCD Version) for Expectant Bronco Owners | Bronco6G - 2021+ Ford Bronco & Bronco Raptor Forum, News, Blog & Owners Community

Basically, make sure all controls, switches, buttons, levers, etc., work, even the child safety lock on the rear doors. Check for imperfections in the paint, plastics/cladding, make sure all lights work, engine cables, hoses, belts are snug and clear, check windows and all glass to ensure they are mounted properly, fluid levels, check taillights, tailgate, etc. I also suggest using some paper or a thick cloth to cover the ambient light sensor on the dash to check for day/night mode and auto headlights work. And last but not least, crank it up and listen to the engine. see if it sounds unusual (i.e. ticking, screeching, erratic idle).
