Got some new snow shoes for my Hybrid -- Blizzak DM-V2 snow tires

Got some Blizzak DM-V2 snow tires for my Hybrid Lariat for the upcoming winter. I have a feeling stock on snow tires will be slim this year so I figured I would order them now and wait to put them on until I need them. Installing on the stock wheels, thinking I may find something else to put on for a "summer wheel" before spring. have had many different brands for winter tires but I always seem to go back to the Blizzak, they are really the gold standard. On a vehicle like this at least.

Ha! No. I've just worked around the industry for 24 year and know how things go. Everyone waits until the first snow to order and then by that time stock is very slim. Plus with the supply chain issues these last couple years hasn't help the situation.

I don't even have a Maverick yet (scheduled build week 10/17), but I thought and did the same thing. Ended up with Michelin X-ICE SNOW (just because I like Michelin, and the performance is nearly as good as the Blizzak's) and some steelie wheels from Tire Rack. Had them two days after they shipped. Waited about an extra week because the tires weren't in stock at the time I ordered.

I am a huge Michelin fan as well and have ran the X-Ice before too. I actually preferred the Pirelli SottoZero when looking for low profile though. I had a Panamera 4S a few years ago and they kept that thing straight as an arrow. But as soon as the roads warmed up I slapped the Michelins back on for the summer haha.

I run Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's on my '12 Cayman R (it doesn't leave the garage in winter ). I think the X-ICE SNOW's I bought for the Maverick are the 'new' version. They are supposed to be an improvement over the original X-ICE version.

I picked up a set of Blizzak WS90s the other day. U.P. winters start pretty early

Those will be great for sure. I'm going with some Cross Climate 2s so I can just leave them on all year. Even here in WI where I am I don't need a full snow tire.

Those are a great choice for an all season for sure. I have the Goodyear WeatherReady on my VW Atlas and they are amazing for all season. For the Maverick I figured I have new tires on it now and I would hate to just trash those to go with a good all season so I'll run the stock tires in the summer and the Blizzaks in the winter until I wear both out then get a good all season. BUT I know myself better than that and there is no way I'll keep this until I wear out two sets of tires lol. I get bored too quickly and will probably have something different in 2-3 years.

That was def part of my reasoning as well. Along with not wanting to mess with another set of rims. In two or three years hopefully the awd will be coming just in time for new tires anyway. That's the plan at least. Also....

Can't go wrong with winter tires. I prefer the "performance" winter tires like Michelin Alpin or Vredestein Wintrac Pro as they seem to handle better in the wet and dry, arn't as loud, but are still leaps and bounds better than all seasons

Absolutely agree on performance winters when it comes to a performance based vehicle. Like stated before, I ran Pirelli SottoZero snow tires on my Panamera 4S but there is nothing "performance" about the Maverick Hybrid so I thought the deep lugs of the Blizzaks would be better for the truck.
