At What Point Should I Call the General Manager or Someone?

Tim Bartz @fordvideoguy likes to give a shout out to good dealers. Well, this is the opposite of that. I pre-ordered with 2022 build sheets a month in advance with three Phoenix area dealers all promising no markups of any kind and only a $500 document fee. It has been a disaster at all three!

I want to place my order today! I'm tired of the games. What does everyone suggest? Do I call the sales manager at each dealership?

If it's any consolation:

1) Order bank functionality has been, to put it charitably, intermittent. Nothing any dealer can do about that except wait until the order bank is operational again, be that briefly or more stably.

2) Number of people at a dealership authorized to place orders are generally fewer than the number of people authorized to take orders.Thus entering an order may be belated for technical reasons or subject to temporary workload inundation delay.

Sanderson Ford says they have placed my order despite not requiring a deposit, not sending a build sheet and not having me sign a thing. I have only sent them my build configuration via PDF. I have not received an email from Ford confirming my order. I have asked my sales person multiple times to send me something proving I have an order. She responds that it will take 2 -3 days for Ford to send the email to rest assured that the order has been placed. Should I call the General Manager or who? How can I verify I have an order?

Rodeo Ford has been differently bad. I had my pre-order again a month in advance. Aimee Deen (Internet sales manager) says she put my order in. Again, no build sheet, nothing signed, nothing at all other than my email to her with my configurations updating the 2022 builds. I then get an email that her assistant Jaime will contact me. Jaime informs me that he can't place an order in the order bank until his dealership receives an allocation. Until then he will hold onto my order. I explain that isn't true and complain to Aimee what Jaime tells me and she assigns me to Louis Vroman. Louis sends me build sheets to sign, which I do and email back. He then informs me that the order banks are closed on the weekend. He just called to confirm that he has the build sheets and I explain that it is ridiculous that no one in Ford can place an order on the weekend. He then confesses that only one person at Rodeo Ford can place orders and that person does not work weekends. So he must wait until Monday. What?!!!

Earnhardt Ford says that the order bank crashed and that it would 2 - 3 days before they can get my order in. Then I get an email yesterday that it will be more like 5 - 6 days!

I want to place my order today! I'm tired of the games. What does everyone suggest? Do I call the sales manager at each dealership?

EDIT: I placed a $500 deposit with Earnhardt, but Rodeo and Sanderson didn't require deposits.
Maybe not the same but I ordered on a Sunday Dec 26th. Got the confirmation from Ford the same day. And you do need to sign and give your licence.

Yes. Start moving up the chain or find another dealer.

I kind of was in the same boat. My “preorder” dealer is unresponsive and I have no idea if they placed that order. A second dealer I contacted the day ordered opened up places it immediately and I have my email. Keep trying.

Thanks everyone. Sanderson Ford just sent me a build sheet as my proof that they placed the order, but stands pat that it takes 3 days to get an email from Ford.

When you have an order placed, does it show up on your Ford account? I thought it did. Sanderson says it won't show up on my Ford account until the order is selected for production. Is this correct?

Me too. Small town dealer converted my MY22 order to a MY23 and we edited out dealer installable items. When I get a VIN, I'll order the dealer installable parts so they are in hand when the truck is delivered.

Some dealers that I spoke to said they were submitting orders but all they are actually doing is taking your details, build, and deposit and entering that info into a spreadsheet.

The person who actually submits the orders in WBDO works off that spreadsheet which is why they kept saying it might take up to a week to get an email. Most sales people don't know what WBDO is.
