Give my reservation to a friend?

I was curious if any one has “signed” over their reservation?

I ordered my maverick in October 21 and was fortunate enough to find one on the lot optioned how I wanted in December for msrp. I purchased the one off the lot because I needed a vehicle.
My friend would like to purchase the truck I reserved. Is there a way to do that without having to pay double tax? (Me buying the car and selling it to him)

I wonder if you could both take title and you then "quit claim" your interest to your friend as in real estate? Any attorneys have an opinion? Probably would vary from state to state.

I don't think so..... maybe if you both co-signed for it and registered it in both your names?

If you finance both names need to be on the contract… big mess

cash both names then you remove yourself from the title… simple

Talk to the dealer, it’s possible they will let them purchase it in place of you when it comes in. If they are really feeling the holiday spirit, they might even waive any markup. It’s totally up to them.

Not sure of the tax implications but regardless if you are selling it to him at MSRP just have him cover all your costs for the transaction. Likely a better deal than he can get on any dealership lot anyway. Especially if its a Hybrid.
