I only downloaded the app for the points. As soon as we use them (hoping to get floormats), we'll delete it. Doesn't seem like any features that are particularly useful to me.

The two main ones for me are:
1.Remote Start when your keyfob doesn't reach, such as inside my building at work.
2.Alerts when your Perimeter Alarm is set off, even on base XLT/Lariat(without Perimeter Plus) when the doors/hood/tailgate are opened when locked.

Well that's a bummer but thanks for the info
Cactus Gray with black wrapped hood, mirror caps, and aftermarket wheels (20x9" wheels + 245/50R20 tires).

TECHPICCO mirror caps are from:

Looks great! What are the specs of the rims and tires? Also can you post side side shots? Curious to see the wheel well gap.

You'd only get points from the down payment if you did it with a Ford credit card.
Well that's a bummer but thanks for the info

I got the 42,000 points signing up, got a bunch more when I put my downpayment on there and ended up with 129,000 points! I bought a hood deflector and then found out I could order 4 tires for my boat trailer (needs 6 but had 2) so I did that and ended up paying $12.41! I thought it was a great deal and although I don’t need to buy much gas for my hybrid I get more points with this card than my others.
So you tacked your downpayment onto it? Simple as that or could you explain?

I applied for the card the day or two days before I went to sign the contract. When he asked about the down payment I said I would put it on my FordPass card. They only wanted to do $5 or $6000 But I was able to talk them into a $7500 down payment on the card. It was very easy!

Just curious how you added your downpayment information? I secured a downpayment with the dealer using a credit card and then subsequently already have delivered the check from my finance company even though the truck is still a couple weeks from delivery. I would obviously like to get as many of those points as possible
I think you would have needed to have the card number to give them when they charge the down payment to your card. You might ask if they can void it since you have not taken delivery and charge it on your FordPass card which you can get in less than 24 hours. Good luck!

Personally, I find it's a great feature to have, not only will you receive Ford Rewards Points, but there are multiple features, such as Schedule Starts, Lock & Unlock, Important Recall/Updates notifications on the vehicle, finding out its location if ever ... and its all FREE why not take advantage of this 🤷‍♂️...
I love Ford Pass especially here in the North, from where I work to where I park it's about a five-minute walk and my remote start never reaches... Thankful for FordPass!

It cracks me up how people are so worried about Ford having their location data, when they are carrying a cell phone that allows their wireless carrier, their phone vendor, Facebook, Google, and possibly many other apps to track their every move and even their conversations... They they go online and post about the fact they're not home (on vacation), or tell everyone in the world what they just ate for lunch, who they were with, etc. Is privacy totally dead, regardless of whether we share our driving info with Ford? IDK...

But I can tell you that not too long ago, my wife and I were verbally discussing something fairly innocuous (baking sheets, IIRC). Later that evening, BOTH of us began seeing all kinds of Amazon ads for baking sheets. Since we noted this the first time, we have observed similar events over and over again. "Someone" has to be listening!

I was at a security conference, and an FBI technician told us about a technology they deployed several years ago that can uniquely identify a person (to something like 95% accuracy) bases solely on the way they move while carrying ANY cell phone that has accelerometers built in (all smart-phones). It's based on the RF emissions from the accelerometer chips themselves, and can be monitored from something like 100 ft away, though in a crowd that distance is reduced.

The illustration he used was stationary "sensors" observing a bank entrance, monitoring (recording) everyone going in/out. A bank robbery occurs, and the data from the fleeing suspect is used to later identify them in a crowd, and home in on them. Crazy stuff...

Lol.

Some people are so paranoid.

Yes! You like giving away your confidential and personal information
you like Ford knowing your location 24/7
you like getting marketed to because they know everything about you

Great post. I had a friend once who took fish oil religiously for heart health but did not wear her seat belt while driving. This FordPass worry crap reminds me of that. Privacy is a real concern, and you should do what you can to protect your data. But unless you're going to truly live off grid, you have to accept some things. I love the features of FordPass.. and I'll be using it.
