echoing the take delivery and flip it when you get what you want or trade it. You should have positive equity driving off the lot for the foreseeable future.

How is it that there is still no class action lawsuit for this? I'd settle for a free Maverick or Lightning. lol
covered under warranty is my guess. Not every manufacturing or engineering defect warrants a lawsuit 🙃

I doubt the wiring harness issue is impacting resale value. It's covered under warranty and not a difficult fix. I'd take delivery and flip it.

I'd flip mine if this was not replacing to old crappy vehicles. If I kept my old vehicle I would spend 3-4k in parts between them. I can not really find anything I want on the used market that is not over inflated.
Not only that getting slapped in the face with credit. I took a 60 point drop just because I maxed out my card for a week. I paid that back down but it could take a month to recover maybe a few days. Paided off a commercial truck loan in March and I am still taking a hit from that.
This is one of the reasons I am doing my refinance on the house and getting the vehicle loan on the same day. It is to avoid credit impact and have to wait 6 months for recovery.

Why not both? That's what I'm doing. You can always sell, most likely for a profit, once your '23 comes in

I think that you should definitely hold out for a 2023. Better safe than sorry....

Meanwhile....I will gladly pay you $2000 to have you keep your 2022 reservation and sell the truck to me at your cost (cost + plus your $2000 commission).

I am down the street from you in Orange County.

Can we make this happen?
I hope you can make this work. I love seeing people helping people out.

I always thought I'm selling one of the trucks but my hesistation comes from all the recent issues especially with the battery dying. Also, if I take the truck and finance it through Ford, will I have an issue financing another one through them for the 2nd truck? I have a stellar credit score if it's just based on that.

You can flip the XLT, but as long as the Lariat is a hybrid '22, keep it. I have a Lariat lux hybrid with no problems. I enjoy the almost 40mpg (plenty of highway miles involved). It runs great and does all the hauling I need it to. The 2022 model will also be less expensive than the 2023. You will make enough money if you resell to cover the upcharge on the 2023 model.

Got a "You're truck has been built" email with a estimated delivery in two weeks.

Of course it's a hybrid. So my question, should I take delivery or wait for 2023 and for them to work out the issues with the battery dying mainly?

It's an XLT and I still have a Lariat order which most likely get push to 2023. Is it still profitablr or at least not at loss to flip these trucks despite of the known problems?

So to sum things up, I could pass up this one and hope for my other order to get pulled as a 2023 with the option to upgrade to AWD hybrid or a PHEV but risk not having a truck at all with how things are so crazy right now.

Keep the order of the XLT in hope that they fixed the wiring issues on mine and still place a separate order for a 2023?

I'm also not in dire need of a new vehicle. It would be nice to have it for the rest of the summer season but not crucial. Thx
From what my dealerships service guys said the AWD hybrid has supposedly been pushed to 24 and the phev is still in testing with a 2025 target. Granted this info came from a gord master mechanic he doesn't run the company so... grain of salt. As far as are they profitable to Flip (I assume you mean to sell it privately after taking ownership and not back to the dealer) then yes people are still selling the trucks for stupid markups because of their current rarity. I jave started to see quite a few more on the road up here in Maine. I can go more than a day or 2 without seeing one. For reference it took 4 and half months for me to see o e besides mine on the road up here

Hhmmm is this for real? I might consider that.
It’s a great deal! I collected a $500 Finder’s fee for helping someone get a base hybrid that I was going to get and then I lucked into my FE Maverick that’s the best! You’re very lucky yo have the Lariat hybrid on order as well! Sounds like a win-win for both of you!

I would wait until they fix all major problems.

Ford Authority newsletter says some Fords, including Mavericks, are being recalled because a bad crankshaft can cause the motor to EXPLODE. When it does, the oil can start the engine bay on fire. Ford's fix is to alter the shutters and drill holes to let the oil drain out WHEN THE MOTOR BLOWS UP.

Their answer to engines blown up is to drill holes in the skid fiber plate so the oil can leak out and not catch fire. Hello, it's not a fire problem, it's a faulty crankshaft. Major manufacturer defect.
Smoke and Mirrors from FORD.
Over 8500 miles and no problems except a loosely tightened tonneau cover by the dealer. Guess I’m lucky! Loving my hybrid!

I got the your truck has been built in May and I'm still waiting for it. Don't expect to see it in 2 weeks. More likely 2 months until you see it. By then we all will know what options will be available for 2023. If you see something you want on the 2023 then let your order go and order a 23.
If you let your 2022 go, you may not be able to get the options you want on a 2023. Your 2022 has been built so it has what you ordered on it. Also you may not see the 2023 until 2024!

I just posted on this Forum about my situation here in Panama City Beach. Got my Maverick MSRP 6-months to deliver. Got my truck and love it. Drove to Mammoth Cave and back @ 80 MPH and got an honest 27 MPG. It WILL haul some ass. I love the 'Push to pass' feature! Anyway I'm sitting down with Ford Thursday to place my order. Sales told me to expect 2% increase over what my MSRP quote will be. If I get THAT in writting I'M GOLD! Happy Trails

I'm ordering 2 ea. Thursday. As I mentioned above Sales sez 2% over MY 22 MSRP. Where do I sign (!!!)? Good strait-up local yokels not out to rape and pillage the village of Maverick (prospective) customes. Ford better watch their ass. You gotta know Asia and perhaps even Europe are going to FLOOD the market with
