Got a "You're truck has been built" email with a estimated delivery in two weeks.

Of course it's a hybrid. So my question, should I take delivery or wait for 2023 and for them to work out the issues with the battery dying mainly?

It's an XLT and I still have a Lariat order which most likely get push to 2023. Is it still profitablr or at least not at loss to flip these trucks despite of the known problems?

So to sum things up, I could pass up this one and hope for my other order to get pulled as a 2023 with the option to upgrade to AWD hybrid or a PHEV but risk not having a truck at all with how things are so crazy right now.

Keep the order of the XLT in hope that they fixed the wiring issues on mine and still place a separate order for a 2023?

I'm also not in dire need of a new vehicle. It would be nice to have it for the rest of the summer season but not crucial. Thx

I got the your truck has been built in May and I'm still waiting for it. Don't expect to see it in 2 weeks. More likely 2 months until you see it. By then we all will know what options will be available for 2023. If you see something you want on the 2023 then let your order go and order a 23.

Thanks! Didn't think about the shipping delays! Sounds so convincing on the email I forgot it's from Ford! Lol! Make sense to see the options they got for 2023.

"upgrade to AWD hybrid or a PHEV " there's absolutely ZERO indication Ford is planning to offer either- not even semi-believable rumors. Certainly not for 2023, when supply chain, IC and other production issues are still preventing them from offering anything related to a smooth end-to-end process from order to delivery on the basic models and options being built right now.

A phev has not been confirmed and at least 2 years down the line . About making it 2023 I mean we don’t know what the private offer will be probably 1k off would be my guess . Hybrids have had few recalls . With that said I roll to 2023 since the recalls should be fixed . If you don’t need it now then why not wait little longer. Your lariat is already a 2023 if you can get both trucks with in few months apart of each other you can make profit .

I think that you should definitely hold out for a 2023. Better safe than sorry....

Meanwhile....I will gladly pay you $2000 to have you keep your 2022 reservation and sell the truck to me at your cost (cost + plus your $2000 commission).

I am down the street from you in Orange County.

Can we make this happen?

I would wait until they fix all major problems.

Ford Authority newsletter says some Fords, including Mavericks, are being recalled because a bad crankshaft can cause the motor to EXPLODE. When it does, the oil can start the engine bay on fire. Ford's fix is to alter the shutters and drill holes to let the oil drain out WHEN THE MOTOR BLOWS UP.

Their answer to engines blown up is to drill holes in the skid fiber plate so the oil can leak out and not catch fire. Hello, it's not a fire problem, it's a faulty crankshaft. Major manufacturer defect.

How is it that there is still no class action lawsuit for this? I'd settle for a free Maverick or Lightning. lol

Flip it. Take the cash. You should be able to get $35 - $36k for it. Since you have a Lariat coming take the $8,000 profit and sit out for a few more months.
