When doing a very close inspection when I took some pictures I noticed that the trim feels like there is something pushing up from underneath on the plastic bed trim. (Hard to tell in the pic below) but it's the same on both sides. Considering bringing back to the dealer to have them take a look. Anyone else notice this or have a remedy?

Did you ever hear anything back or did the bump get any worse. I noticed mine had tiny bumps when I added the cover but after a few months they seem closer to yours.

I just replaced mine, was super easy: https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...replace-the-trim-see-end-of-page5.6677/page-5

I would not stress out too much about it. Just get the part and replace it. The most complicated part for you would be removing the bed cover. The actual trim removal and replacement can be done under 10-15min. Just make sure to understand what the cause for this damage was. Something seem to push from underneath (maybe the bolt you can see in one of my pictures?)

Can it be a problem with the bed cover clamps? Mine was messed up by myself. As I showed, the fix is super easy and you can get the parts for both sides for around 120-150 bucks. If it is caused by the bed cover clamps, you can see if the Bed Cover manufacturer covers the cost. If not, I would bring it to the dealership and have it fixed. If none of them is paying, you can do it yourself.

Yes, right now I just adjusted the tension of the cover. I think that was the problem. It was too tight and with the temperature changes it created more tension in the bed trims.

If it's in the same spot on both sides I am 99% sure its from the installation of the tonneau cover. If they installed it and overtighten something than it's on them to fix it.

I was the one who installed it.

The same thing happened to mine. My clamps are 10"away from the lump. Is it really from over tightening or just the weight of the cover and we'll all have this issue eventually? I've only had mine a month and have the issue. Did it get worse or did you fix it?

Have the same issue, my guy in service noticed as well and said from intake of getting vehicle. It’s gotten worse They took pictures and contacted Ford, and bringing it in Mon. they said they would need for 2-3 days to figure out what’s going on and repair. 🤷🏽‍♂️.

Mine has this same thing with factory installed bed cover. Never looked at it, assumed they ran the cover bolt to tight.

Mine is doing too. Didn’t notice until after I had bed cover on. Howevr, I also put the bed cover on within a couple wpeeks of ownership, so I thing it is a coincidence.

The hills are we’re the plastic ‘clips’ are that hold the trim piece on. The valleys are in between them. If you lay in your bed and look up, you can the clips that snap into slots in the metal.
