I was unloading my gold clubs from the back of my Maverick and noticed light coming through from the underside of bed between bed and floor of bed. This can not be a good thing as it looks like the bedside and floor are not connected. The other side looks fine. I am heading to the dealer to see what they have to say. I am very unhappy about this because I love the truck and now I have concerns

The maverick is a unibody truck and you are correct the floor is a separate piece like the fenders they are bolt on, if you get in an accident you’ll be happy is built that way.

Yes but how big is this gap if the bed liner didn't even fill it in? Not sure if something is not lined up correctly or not which can cause issue in the future.

This was shown on earlier post. Whether there or somewhere else was a video of Mavs being built and a caulk was being put in places you are showing. I am unaware if the intent was to make the bed watertight or allow some openings for drainage. This early in the life of the maverick the dealer may or may not have encountered this.

I think there's sealant/ caulk / adhesive between the pieces . Probably just missed it at the factory . Hopefully it's an easy fix .

Ouch! This is really disappointing for you, I'm sure. Hopefully, it's an easy fix. Reminds me of a commercial paint contractor who told me that "a patch is a patch." Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

The Rhino liner I had installed aftermarket correctly filled that gap.

So this is actually normal it appears.
The bed is not a single unit design. As such they have left open areas all around the insert to provide proper drainage out of the body and away.
You will notice drain holes at the front and all around the joint that go to the underbody drainage.

I would not worry about that at all. There are tolerances to all aspects and at the very end of the spec you may find a wider gap here or there. if it's properly rust proofed / painted and it functions with proper rigidity I would not bat an eye at it.
