Bed floor separation / gap from side of bed - normal or issue?

Please do not use silicon sealers on or near automotive painted surfaces. If a paint repair is required, it is a nightmare to prevent fisheyes. A high-quality automotive urethane sealant is what the pros use. Urethane has greater flexibility, better temperature extremes, higher strength against separations, stronger adhesion qualities and better paint adhesion. Save the silicon for bathtubs and gaskets.

This was shown on earlier post. Whether there or somewhere else was a video of Mavs being built and a caulk was being put in places you are showing. I am unaware if the intent was to make the bed watertight or allow some openings for drainage. This early in the life of the maverick the dealer may or may not have encountered this.
