I'm not Tim, but I can answer this fairly well. When you order your Ford from the dealer, the dealer should give you a priority number of 10-19 within a day or two. Most receive an order confirmation from Ford, but not everybody does. A higher number than 19 is not an ordered vehicle. Most of us start out at 19. When the dealer feels it's time for your car to be considered for manufacturing it gives your order a 10 priority. Then a Ford rep for that area looks at it and moves it to a 2 priority when they want it to be considered for a vin by the manufactuer in Mexico for the Mav. No changes can be made by the dealer once it is designated a 2 priority unless it is changed back to a 10 and then changed back to a 2 by the area rep. Once you are a 2 you are seriously being considered for a build. If you have constrained items on your order you may be passed over many times. Some have been a priority 2, but their orders were not submitted correctly by the dealer and will continue to be passed over. So, you want to be a priority 2 with an approved order. This is where you go to the dealer and ask to see the rovp or covp to be sure it is an approved order if you are not positive it is. Actually, the sooner the better on seeing the order is really approved. Tim has shown what the rovp looks like on this thread on page 25.
I ordered in October 22, and was a priority 2 from the start. Still no VIN. Nothing.

You were not a priority 2 from the start. You were, at best, a 10 at first. That's the lowest a dealer can set.

I ordered my Maverick Lariat on October 29th. After receiving this e-mail from Ford I notified my dealer to go ahead and move me to the 2023 model.

You have to make a new order in August, so you will have to follow up then. That is what the email said. There is no rollover.

If it was a hybrid it probably is still in play. If it is an ecoboost then Something would probably be wrong with the order. You need to contact the dealer and make sure you have an approved covp or rovp. You need a copy, a screenshot, or email with a copy of it. Something that assures you your order was placed properly. That's where you got to start. If that's good, then you are like the rest of us who have to order on August 2nd to keep our place in line (we hope).

Got my first direct email saying in early June saying it would be built the week of June 13, then June 20. Nothing happened, so I called Ford and the guy said it would now be Sept. 1. No email ever came about the third change of build date. This is all so pitiful.

Can you explain the numbered priority system? Thanks!
1-9 is given by the factory (usually they give it a 1 or 2, if you see a 1, guaranteed it will schedule next)
10-19 dealership retail (customer order)
20-80 dealership stock order
99 dealership holding the order to wait for late available items or next model year.

Same old botched communications from Ford. My email stated to "click the link below" for FAQ's but there was no link on the email. How can we make an educated choice between the two options...stay with the 2022 order or roll to 2023MY...when we have no details until August on what the "private discount offer" is for the 2023 option? The email states we have until only July 8 to decide if we want to remain on the 2022 order list. My local salesguy has not responded to texts or voicemails to meet and discuss before the 7/8 deadline. The frustration continues...

Never in my entire life have I ever seen such a scheme. At 91, I can not even label this a scheme. It must be one of these new math theories like my great granddaughter's 1st grade teacher sent me on Zoom learning, how to teach her "todays" long division and the proper use of "chunk verbs" What ever happened to Dick and Jane just running down the street?
I'm trying to have fun and be adventurous. I bought a Mustang Mach E(couple month wait)to tool around in. It could not keep up with me. My back roads were firm, but the batteries said no-return miles. So after a year I read about Maverick. Nifty. I picked out my options(probably last car I'll own), Just missed the 1st edition, but settled on a fully loaded Area51 hybrid Lariat. In Feb or Mar started reading about the horror stories on this sight. Hell, I'm sort of kicked back and not in a hurry. But all of a sudden it's been a year and then the Ford's Secret Squirrel Letter arrives 02July22. I can option for a 23, without ever seeing my 22? I can't make out any great strides Ford has made at finding parts, but now they want to pencil whip a fantastic sales report for the 23 model without supporting/for fulling the 22 model.
I am truly, actually hard put to come up with a game plan. Any ideas?

and I have no idea how to set up that left side picture/profile column, so don't chastise me.

I'm an old guy too, John. In my 70s although to you I am a "youngster". At our age, this crap is not worth it. I bought a Ridgeline six months ago instead since I ordered the Maverick in June of last year and still don't have a build date although I have a vin. And could not be happier with the Ridgeline. I'm waiting to see if I ever get the Maverick but I don't care, I'll sell it if I do and make a few grand - I hope. Bottom line for us older guys, it ain't worth it.

Tim,

So just to clarify....

If you want to take something off of your 22 order to see if it gets build faster with no guarantee that it will, that has to be done by July the 8th?

If you dont change it, then on the Aug 2nd through the 15th you and your dealer sit down and make a new order for the MY23 with those options and they will be able to somehow get to the factory that you are MY22 order and those will be pushed to the front of the line of the regular order MY23's?
But...
If your truck gets scheduled before Aug 2, then you dont have to do that, unless you want a MY23?

There should be no scheduling of MY22 after Aug thet 2nd, or if there is and you do a MY23 and then get scheduled your MY23 order goes away?

The MY22s will be built all the way up to the middle of Oct for those last orders?

With all these dates and what is happening I am getting a bit confused and my saleman is clueless as of last Saturday.

Thank you.

I received the email in April about manufuctering delays, but I did not get this last email. My order is a late ordered Hybrid XL with a trailer hitch and full size spare as the only options. I wonder if they will still try to schedule my truck as a 22? No one has a crystal ball, but this email seems to address higher optioned orders with more constraints. I guess time will tell.....
