Good to know. Nothing appeared to be dripping when I filled the reservoir, and most likely there was nothing left to drip by the time I got to my destination!
If it was leaking from the block heater there would have been plenty of coolant still in the block/system and you still would have seen a puddle underneath.

Apparently there's a cover underneath the engine that it's been dripping onto. Explains why I didn't see anything dripping immediately after refilling.

I had that problem when my hybrid only had 5 miles.. yea a brand new hybrid maverick with a coolant leak from apparently the heater block. Even Fordpass detected the coolant issue.

but i was more lucky than you. It only took them 24 hours to get the part. But it was a 7 hours job.. so i had to leave them the vehicle for 2 days..

After two days, i left with the fixed maverick and noticed the coolant level in the overflow tank was about half an inch above the max line.
its been two weeks since and i just checked last night,, now the coolant is right at the Min level line.. so now I start to worry again.

i can't find the leak.. apparently you need a snake cam to see the leak..Unless i lift it and look under.. but i won't do that for safety reason.

the heater block is very hard to acces, to change that the manidold has to be removed and the catalytic drop down..

is it possible for the coolant in the overflow to just drop from max to min within a week?

im not getting any Fordpass err…. Atleast for now.

Glad to head I'm not alone. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on the coolant whenever I get it back.

Thanks!

I would just continue to watch it. After the dealer refilled it, it may have just had an air pocket that eventually went away and could cause the coolant level to drop a bit.

ford are closed on saturday.. but i went to a generalist mechanic shop that i know…. The tech guy just told me the same. Not to add any coolant for now,, it’s probably nothing..and to keep an eye on the level,.. that was in the morning. I drove a bit, about 15 miles….let it cool down 6 or 7 hours.. the coolant in the overflow box is 1/8 inch bellow min line.

i hope its just a pocket air.. monday im going to buy some coolant from ford and leave it in the trunk..

Sorry to read of the engine block heater leaking; I have one and will keep an eye on the coolant level. Being 2022 is the first production year, issues are bound to show up. Really pleased to hear your dealership is doing the right thing, which I have come to expect from mine (repeat customer).

Are not engine block heaters dealer installed? I know they used to be. I once had a full coolant blowout on my second Ranger the third day I owned it. Dumped all the coolant onto the ground at a UPS terminal construction site. Their enviro people were not happy. Huge puddle under the truck. Apparently the dealer just stuck the heater in hand tight and even forgot to connect the wiring. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: I was not laughing at the time though. LOL.

I have no idea. I don't recall reading anything about block heaters nor do I see anything mentioned on the window sticker. Dealer installed would be curious since the bulk of Mav sales are Cali and Florida, where they're unnecessary, but if they were dealer installed, I would hope they would have some more in stock instead of having to wait two weeks to get one. The mystery deepens!

I'll try to remember to ask next time I'm talking to the dealer.

It sure does. Very odd there is no mention of it on the sticker. Usually, they are part of a "winter kit" along with a larger battery and a cost option, of course. Times are changing now though in many ways so who in hell knows what the current wisdom is now.

Intriguing. Upper or lower reservoir?
Not sure what you mean, but the big clear plastic overflow tank, front compartment was completely empty. Rear section looked ok which I’m guessing is battery or Ev coolant?
