Financially, I think you are better off staying with the Santa Cruz for another year or so and ordering a hybrid 2023 Maverick.

Assuming your SC gets 20 mpg and the Mav gets 40 mpg, At $5/gal you would save $1,250 in 10,000 miles. Not sure how much you drive, but it would need to a lot (32,000 miles) to make up the $4k ADM.

Better off rolling plush in the Santa Cruz for now, and getting the custom Maverick you want next year.

That is a very valid point and appreciate the response to my post. I think that would be the smart thing to do and that’s what I am going to do. Like you said I wouldn’t make up the 4k ADM. I really do like my Santa Cruz too so I think I will sit on it until I can custom order the exact one I want because even with the one I was thinking about getting it wasn’t the exact one I wanted. So at least this way I get the exact one. Decision is made lol I’ll wait

Ok. decision made.o_O A lot of people on here were quite patient with the length of your decision making. Someone may be interested in this hybrid. I doubt it is still available but it would good of you to tell them the name of dealer and location.

My daughter paid $5k over... that's the market. If you need a new car, it is a good one (assuming they fix that damn deep sleep issue).
I have a new 2022 Santa Cruz SEL Premium AWD 2.5l turbo. I definitely don’t need it but it’s more of a want and with gas prices it’s more enticing

Do the math, figure out how much you drive and how much you'll save on gas between what you're driving now and the Maverick Hybrid. Then figure out how long it would take to save the $4k by using less fuel. If you don't currently have a car payment and would purchasing a new Maverick there's that to consider too.

def. a want and not a need lol. But I would be saving money on gas by switching to the hybrid. Yes, i would be trading it in. So i save on sales tax.
tell them that you will buy it right now for M S R P PLUS 2,500.00 PLUS ALL TAXES AND THAT YOU COULD GET A TOP OF THE LINE "lariat" for the sme price if you waited 9 mo's and that you would take delivery right now,Let them know that this is a want not a need and speak directly to the sales maneger.if they counter offer say 3500 then say with 5 free oil changes and hold your ground because these people can read people and tell if they realy want it bad! just be firm and say i will take delivery right now lets do the "DEAL" if not walk you can order what you want Aug-15th and have it by FEB or MARCH good luck.

I think that’s a great idea and I think that would work in any other market but this one. They know how hard these are to find and he knows that if I don’t take it he can find someone who will so not sure if this approach would work in todays market. But I agree, I can try and if they say no then just walk and order one at msrp

well let me say this you can allways "GO" the 4 grand after this offer from you,You also can absolutly get top dollar for your truck the market is also great for this vehicle when they appraise it they will come in a little low counter offer 1,500.00 more for your truck and keep in mind that any net gain on your trade in is tax free toward your "Maverick" you absolutly can come out on this because of the demand on your truck and a ford dealer would love to have that truck out frount on there lot.you go get that truck! i have a hot pepper red lariat and just took deli on another one just like and sold before it ever hit my driveway i believe you van make this work for a small increase in price after you trade the trade is on your side you have something that they would love to have on there lot.

It's a hard to say right now because it's not all hybrids, but there's definitely a problem with some and it appears to a faulty soldering job on a battery cable. There's a thread on MTC (Deep Sleep) it might worth your time to read and at least understand what's going on. The thing that hasn't been identified yet is if it's just a certain time frame of trucks built or what.
to awnser your ? "NO" these are rare and most have been tampered with bye add there on electronic accessories items to them causeing battery drainage in witch causes hybrid (deep-sleep-mode) and in a very few cases mice have eat into wireing at rear tese cases is one in 20,000 as i say there is a underlining reason for this it is blown out of porpotion

Well there's 17 pages of folks that have experienced this issue and to each of them I'm sure it's not rare or being blown out of proportion! Just along the lines of the fuel tanks with possible holes drilled into them. It's a safety concern that needs to be addressed by Ford sooner rather than later. There's obviously a manufacturing issue with the vendor that's supplying these cables. Ford needs figure how many are substandard and how many could possibly be out in the wild. I've only heard of one case of an animal chewing wires, of course there could be more, but that's not a manufacturing problem, crappy soldering is!

Good luck to you if you decide to go ahead with your purchase. Believe me, you surprised a lot of people with the certificate you posted . . . me included! I was pleased with the $500 military reduction I received and am excited for your find! Hope it all works out for you.

By the way, what color is it? You never did give the full details. Thanks.

I just bought 2 over the last 3 weeks that people had ordered and declined . They started out asking $45k for each of them. I ended up getting each of them for $3k over MSRP. I figured that with at least 8% inflation the average 2023 model will go up at least $3k. Plus if you order in August and have to wait another 3-6 months for delivery the interest rates will be close to double what they are now if you will be financing. Also, you are right, the Hybrid models are very hard to find. Both of mine are Ecoboost models. We love them and are very happy with our purchases.
You know your financial situation but make a decision quickly as they don't last long at the dealerships because some people will still pay those huge "market adjustments".
