Once the microchip/ parts/ truck driver shortage is taken care of and Ford actually starts to advertise the Maverick, they are going to sell a gazillion of these. Not only are we getting a $20,000 truck, but I don’t know if there are any $20,000 vehicles of any kind in America.

No no no. Article says American and America. Not America’s which implies the north/South America huge region. The article is misleading to consumers since it is not produced in America.

Sorry wasn’t quoting the article.
If you buy a Ford assembled in Canada is it Canadian?
A Toyota assembled in Texas is it Japanese or American?

Yes. Born in Mexico, you aren’t American. It is misleading in my opinion, but I’m sure everybody does research (or at least I hope so) before shelling out thousands.

Germany is European.
Japan is Asian.
Mexico is American.

What am I missing?

Nothing missing, I’m just stating my opinion, right or wrong. I guess I’m just conditioned to think of American and US as a single unit.

I understand that the maverick is for all parts of the americas. Hence American. Again, I don’t care, I just think it is a tad misleading to a consumer who doesn’t think of it like that. But I can only use my point of view because im American. (Well maybe)

The Toyota Tundra is made in the USA with 65% USA sourced components. That is more than the Dodge RAM. I guess Toyota is more “American” 🙃

Last time I checked Ford is an American company and whether it is made in Michigan, Mexico, the North Pole, or Mars, the vehicles are still from an American company so nothing wrong with calling the Maverick an American truck, as long as the article doesn’t say Made in America. And yes, I would like to see every single part of the Maverick made in the USA by an American company and then everything assembled here as well. That would be hard to do for $20,000. On a somewhat unrelated note, what is everyone’s opinion regarding chicken and waffles? Do you go with syrup, gravy, or both?

$20,000 was the early 2020 price. The new price going forward is up up up. Having said that Maverick is only going to continue being desirable as purchasing power declines.

I think Ford will keep the price at $20,000 for the 2023 model. It attracted a lot of people, including yours truly. I think they will stick with it for another 16 or 17 months and then a $1,000-1,500 increase in roughly October 2023 for the 2024 model.

When I got off the plane in Mexico the Mexicans told us:
"Americans over here. Mexicans over there."

If your parent(s) are from the US, then you‘re probably American, wherein I mean the US.

And it’s not a $20K truck. The lowest is $21.K ( as everyone here knows).
